Only the most recent example, but explain to me how what Kerk just did on top qualifies as "wrestling." It's brutal to watch.
Do you blame them? There is 0 offense from 174, 184, or 197 when it comes to Iowa's lineup.

I believe Kerk got extra advancement points from his bye in the first round...so he essentially got advancement points for two rounds there. Someone correct me if I'm wrong please

Despite the lower picture quality, one thing I appreciate about watching the Iowa State Tournament is that they keep all 3 classes on screen until the match ends, and the commentary focuses just on whatever match they believe needs to be talked about.
That was a great counter but not quite as good as the Okie State cast over. That was incredible!

Yes. It makes it confusing for tracking the score as you can't earn the earlier advancement points until after you win the quarterfinals.
Iowa tied with PSU for lead, but heading into semi's, Iowa advances 6, while PSU advances 7.
The bad news - if semi's go as seeded, Iowa will only advance 2 to finals, and PSU would advance all 7.
Warner over Dean and Cass over Kerk would sure help, but even with that, Iowa needs some other upsets.

4:30 (Central) is when consis round of 12 start, with semis starting at about 6:30 central
Consis at 5:30 semis 7:30 4:30 and 6:30 central time
He can't unlearn slow feet. It's always been a problem. Throw in no go to shot from neutral and it's a problem.

Iowa can win the championship if Murin, Warner, and Cass win. Even so if just two win like you said. Tall order, but none of them are huge dogs.
RBY, Starocci and Brooks are most likely champs for Penn St. Lee and Woods same for Iowa. We need Hardy to beat Bartlett and Coleman to beat Haines. Need to at least split 197 and 285 and would be nice if Kennedy beats Amine (better chance) and/or Murin upsets Sasso (lesser chance) That would give us Lee, Woods, Kennedy, and Warner/Cass in the finals. Penn St would have RBY, Starocci, Brooks, and Dean/Kerk in the finals.
Injured or not Abe hasn't presented a vibe that he belongs with the top 8 in the country. He can beat the 10-20 guys but once he faces top 8 the wins go away.

Just like Warner, everyone in the top 15 or so have scouted him well and know exactly where to position themselves in the ties to basically eliminate their neutral offense.
Simply put, some very good wrestlers still have a limited amount of attacks in neutral and if that basically ALL is generated from the ties, good wrestlers can and do shut that down.
Make no mistake, Nelson and Jacob hand fight nonstop. They just can’t do anything if their opponents stay hips back and elbows in in the ties….

Nope. You are missing the point. It’s called no progress in four years. Wrestling way below the credentials they entered Iowa with. What amazes me most is Brands, I.e. zero offense with that last name. He must have gotten all the recessive genes from mom 😮😮. All this said, I love both guys and bleed black and gold. Just does not affect my objectivity and what my eyes tell me.
