Kind of crazy in retrospect. The unheralded recruit majoring what most Hawk fans felt was a must have recruit. That’s what makes this sport so great.
Cobe reminds me of a really good HS athlete who decides to try wrestling his sophomore year, learns a handful of basic skills, then uses those with his athleticism to frustrate and beat much more experienced guys.
When he gets in bad positions it’s almost as if he doesn’t realize it, and he just keeps calmly battling until all of a sudden he’s in a good position.

Did you catch what Coach Brand's yelled to the ref in the third when Cobe was on a leg/turk and the ref started into a count? Ref stopped his count, ha.
I say good on the ref there, he immediately recognized what he was missing and stopped the count. Plus he was in the right place and using his eyes and ears.

That’s the kind of match that makes me want to go to freestyle rules so someone is always ahead and they have to wrestle with urgency.
Not an exciting wrestler by any means, but feel bad for Lee there. His shoulder is clearly hurting him
Oh no, I think Lee messed up his shoulder. Poor guy can’t get healthy. Tough season for him. Hope he gets back to what he used to be. Seems like a good kid

Wasted too much time riding in the first and second periods. Infuriating
lmao missed a tech by 1 point in a match where he wasted at least a cumulative two minutes of wrestling riding without any attempt to turn against the 14 seed. that's a coaching issue
it'll get memory-holed, but i wish a reporter would ask brands specifically about his choices in this match and how they fit into a broader philosophy. that match could have ended early in the third.
No. I believe he’s below 500 on the year. Tough to see injuries cripple a once pretty good wrestler.
He got put down hard on that shoulder during the OT. Refs gotta watch those returns, shoulders aren't the durable hips.
