Well, it’s a “down” year and they are going to be untouchable at Nationals. Meanwhile our only National champion since 2017 is gone after this year. So forgive me if I don’t see any light at the end of this tunnel.

Let me give you six points of light --- Drake Ayala, Ryder Block, Cody Chittum, Patrick Kennedy, Gabe Arnold, Ben Kueter.

I wasn't sure, so I checked the rule book:
Art. 10. Disqualification. A disqualification is a situation in which a competitor
is banned from further competition.
a. A disqualification shall be included as a win or loss in each wrestler’s
individual season record. (See Table 4.11.1.)
b. Out-of-match disqualifications for unsportsmanlike conduct and
flagrant misconduct shall eliminate that individual from all subsequent
competition in that event. (See Rule 5.5 for additional rules regarding
flagrant misconduct violations.)
c. In-match disqualifications for unsportsmanlike conduct and
disqualifications for technical violations and stalling shall eliminate that
individual only from the match in which they were disqualified.

The slam is considered an illegal hold, which is one point and a DQ if the other guys can't continue.

In Siebrecht's match he was in deep on a double and wasn't able to power through -- my uneducated guess is that his shouder problem is limiting him in positions like that.

Was thinking the same thing. I also thought he and Teske both looked a little sluggish. But hey, they both won.
