2024 Concert Plans

Been to Salt Shed!?!
Love the venue! The concourse and setup is great, and so clean too.

At an age now too where don’t care to be in the pit, but the bleacher/seats in the back are so nice!

Yep! I've been to maybe 8 shows there so far, a few indoors and the rest outside. I really like it, lines are never too bad, audio is quality and when the show is over, I go and find an electric Divvy bike and I'm back home within 15 minutes of the song ending, which is fantastic.

For the wife's (no pics) birthday we're going to Davenport in a couple months to see Wind Walkers, Currents, and The Plot in You. Not mad about it, I enjoy all 3 of those bands. I'm going to eat my weight in QC style pizza just for @QChawks

How was the show last night?

They were great. Got started not long after the 6:30 stated time, no opener. Started a little slow with a slightly smaller Wednesday night crowd and it still being pretty light out. But they jammed.

First set wasn't my favorite tracks but still got great versions of Echo of a Rose into Wysteria Lane and a great encore of Madhuvan.

I'm thinking tonight and Friday will only get better.

how late did they play?

If you guys need tickets to anything that is sold out or close to sold out, hit me up. I work for a broker and can probably save you some righteous bucks. Send me a DM. We sell to anything in the U.S. and some international events as well. Concerts, sporting events, family shows, etc.

Pissed I had to miss sum 41 last week because of work. Also missed blues traveler at Val Air sat because driving home after a home game is terrible.

Sorry bro but this is the 2024 concert thread not the 2025 concert thread. No biggie, but don't pull that shit in my thread again.

I saw Guster at Red Rocks and I am going to see ELO at the American Airlines Center in October.

How much were tickets? Is it general admission?
Not a general admission show but i wish it was... We got good seated tickets awhile back for around a hundred a piece but prices weren't too bad anywhere in the arena..

PUMPED FOR GOJIRA!!

I thank God I grew up with GA shows and no cell phones. Everyone moshed. Now hundreds or thousands of people at each show makes a crappy phone recording that you can watch on YouTube. Makes no sense to me.

In any case, that will be an awesome show. Have fun!

I couldn't agree more... It really takes away from a metal show experience.. I love metal shows and have since I was 15 (33years ago).. Half of the experience is being in that pit and feeling the aggression of the music.. sitting in a seat is a little different lol...

I loved Kerry King a couple weeks ago... Reminded me of the old days .. If yiu get a chance...

I'm close. I was 15 31 years ago. Lol

Btw I saw Gojira at Knotfest a couple years ago. That whole day was a disappointing shit show but the music was good and Gojira killed it.

That was the best and worst part of Knotfest. It was the best sound for all the bands that I've ever experienced. You could very clearly hear every instrument and the vocals. It was awesome. Or it would have been if I wasn't dying of dehydration and spending hours and hours standing in line.

I was up front and to the left so it was probably just where I was at... I've seen online shows from them and they sound great so..

I saw Hank Jr. pre-pandemic. He was a mess and basically slurred through a melody of greatest hits while filling in the dead space with politics. It sucked. Maybe he's cleaned up and wants to make the money.
Curious as to whether or not other Hank Jr. fans have had similar experiences. My dad and step mom went to see him in the early/mid 80’s when he was near his prime. It was either the Iowa or Illinois State Fair and Hank Jr. came on stage almost 3 hours late, drunk and stoned out of his mind. My dad said it was the worst concert he’d ever attended and the crowd was not pleased.

Council Bluffs Westfair? Sound is hit and miss there over the years. Saw Soundgarden there right before Cornell died and thought it was great. Bush, Breaking Benjamin and AIC, sound was good too. But I’ve been to a few that are sketch. Honestly I’d rather see bands at smaller 3k - 5k indoor venue. The Steelhouse and Astro are fantastic in Omaha. Still need to get to Waukee to check out Vibrant.

What do you guys have planned for this year? I keep seeing tour dates getting filled in and have made a few plans. All local so far, probably not going to be traveling too far or seeing any giant stadium shows. Am sort of tempted by a camping/overnight festival.

March
Greensky Bluegrass
Mihali
JJ Grey & Mofro

June
Robert Plant and Alison Krause

July
Stick Figure
Soul Coughing playing next week in Chicago. Hit!

Saw Sullivan King in June and August

Purchased tickets to a couple in November:
•Borgore - LA
•Zombieland Apocalypse Music Festival- Long Beach

Oh well, my upcoming festival at Spirit of the Suwannee got cancelled due to storm damage. Not sure what my next show will be now. On the bright side, I recently saw that Big Head Todd & the Monsters are hitting the road starting next month & running through early 2025 for their 40th anniversary tour, and are playing a couple of shows near me (one in St Pete, one in Orlando), and for the Florida shows Hazel Miller will be there backing/singing the duets that she does with them. I'll definitely go to one, maybe both.

Looks like they're doing a couple of shows in Iowa in January...Des Moines on the 10th, Davenport on the 14th
