****2025-26 Chicago Bears Thread 🏆****

Bears agreed to terms with Colts EDGE Dayo Odeyingbo on a three-year, $48 million contract.
Odeyingbo had four sacks this past season, but 12 in 2023 when he took the jump to reliable pass rusher. Still entering his age-26 season, the Bears are likely forecasting some improvement here. He’ll step in across from Montez Sweat to give the Bears a pair of capable pass rushers at end. Odeyingbo had only started five games in his first three years with the Colts.

This really shakes up their biggest needs now and opens up increased chances for trading down now I think.

I've read that the top tier talent isn't very deep this year, with only 10-14 players receiving true "1st round" grades. Because of this, I don't like trading down. Take the best available OL or DL on the board at #10.

Edit: unless you're talking about only trading back 1-2 spots and you still think your guy will be there.

FYI- You can Justin Fields off your wish list. 2/$40mm to the Jets.

Thuney is 34, but an all pro and the Chiefs team MVP. I think you'll like him.

Casual observer, Bears need OT/DT/DE. Good depth is a good thing.

I hate the only 1st round grade thing - good drafts only have around 20. It should average out to around the 32. I agree that this is a short on star players but it is deep on good players so I'd be OK trading down around 10 spots if the return is a 2nd or high 3rd round pick depending on who is available at 10.

RIP in pieces to Justin Fields' career. Hopefully he invests that $40 million wisely.

The Bears shouldn't overthink this and go for Junty. Take a lineman, or trade down. There are lots of good linemen available, and they must build depth. They have added three starters for the offensive line, but nobody behind them. The line was trash. Build it up.

Add another possible starter on the o line in free agency, you know I want Scherff. See what it would take to move up and get Mason Graham.

Their are a ton of good RB's in this draft, do the Bears blow their wad and grab Jeanty? As someone said, I'd wait and see what else is available, although the Bears are anti-Iowa so you won't get KJ.

The Bears QB was sacked 68 times last year. Build your line(s), then your D, and then fill in the fun pieces (WR/RB). As a Chiefs fan, it's no fun to watch your QB get chased around all damn game, especially in the SuperBowl.

The comp, and it's an easy one, is the Lions grabbing Gibbs. The Bears and the Lions aren't in the same space, yet.

That may be, but Detroits line was proven so the Gibbs grab wasn't fools gold. Chicago has addressed OL in FA, but how they mesh remains to be seen. There are other needs for the Bears that should be addressed first. JMO.

I could see the Bears trading down at any of their first three picks. The high end talent isn’t there, but from picks 15-50 is all about even.

Poles put the Bears in a really good position today for taking the best guys available.

Take best o- tackle in draft:
1 Campbell
2 Missouri guy
3 banks

The top 2 are good values at 10.
Otherwise maybe trade down and then get banks or Simmons out of OSU.
Rb can be grabbed 2nd or 3rd round
Another dtackle in a deep dtackle draft also.

I still hope their first three picks are LT, DE, DT, in that order.
I like this but not sure there's a LT worthy of #10 in this draft? Maybe Banks but he's a bit undersized and I wasn't all that impressed the few times I watched him. I think if anything they've put themselves on position to go BPA at 10 then fill needs the rest of the way.

He also put the Bears in a tough spot because all of the FA grabs yesterday are to shore up spots he's whiffed on. He drafted Pickens and Dexter in 2023, and Dexter is a reserve at best. Pickens is in serious doubt about making the team. Drafting an Ivy League OT with a broken knee...
This is why I worry about Poles making draft choices.

Poles is GM'ing this offseason like he knows he's in danger of being fired.
I mean pretty much. Warren wanted Johnson and would've fired Poles to get him. Only reason Poles is around is because Johnson was fine with working with him. Poles is basically under "get Johnson what he needs or we will find someone who will".
