24-25 schedule

I might suggest putting a new thread OFFICIAL 24/25 Schedule in the sticky section so members can see the schedule without wading through the muck. Seeing Stanford, Oregon State, Princeton, Army, and the clowns in the first 5 weeks of the season is pretty cool.

I have updated the 1st post in this thread with the known dates.

@WildTurk @IAChief32

You can use that for the sticky "official schedule".

Looks like the 'Journeymen Duals' = the duals with Army and Princeton

Yep. Also part of the UFC's coverage of NCAA wrestling. Will need UFC FightPass to watch, I'd imagine.

Looks to be a $10 monthly pass. Not bad for a couple of Iowa meets as well as others at Journeyman. Hope Flo picks up the Oregon State meet.

Why does the Athletic Department wait so long to announce it?
Long story short is BTN tries to maximize TV opportunities. They schedule basketball first. The conference doesn’t “finalize” any dates until all that is sorted out.

Iowa also waits to put anything out until their full schedule is ready. So even though Oregon State has been promoting their dual against Iowa like crazy, the University won’t comment on it until they are ready to.

updated schedule. Maybe just missing Ok State dual and any tournys that some of the team will hit?

1/12 @ Wisconsin
1/17 - Illinois

They will also travel to Bellarmine I believe its in November. Ned Shuck is the head coach he wrestled at Iowa

Just an FYI, and maybe this has already been established, but...

I spoke to one of the wrestling coaches at Francis Howell H.S., and he said that tix are going to be going on sale this Friday. We'll see if that happens...

When it's released remind us to pin that at the top of the page!
I got banned from the Penn st board for saying the guys you and chief banned deserved it. They said I was defending you, I didn’t bring you up once. They freaking hate you there. I did not know how much until this weekend.

Sorry for the off topic mention, but I thought it was crazy how soft my ban was. All I did was say that self diagnosed trolls got banned for trolling. Which they assumed was a defense of you and not a statement of facts. I said nothing inappropriate and even wished them good luck and good health this season. They banned me cuz they don’t like you, I’d stay away from there if I were you.

Softest fan base in college athletics. They’re still crying about an Iowa fan not being nice on tv 3 years later.

I’ve had maybe 100 messages there. Never hostile, and usually attacked because hawkfan is in my username. Not a big deal but there were a few people that I enjoyed hearing from. Oh well I guess. I’ve never been banned from anything, they must be soft….or really freaking hate @WildTurk.

It’s kinda funny. Ohio State came to Eugene to play football last week. I work across from the stadium. tOSU fans started showing up on Wednesday. A couple stopped me during a walk around the neighborhood and asked a few questions about parking/camping. I told them I was from Iowa. They told me they have visited most Big10 universities for games and that Iowa and Nebraska fans are some of the nicest. Then they told me, without prompting, that PSU fans have been the most unpleasant, hands down.

I imagine that could just be the rivalry talking but I’ve seen many opposing fans show some love for road games at Iowa.

Does Iowa shut down traffic when opposing teams roll into town? Eugene closed down the highway while the police escorted tOSU busses from the airport to the stadium the other day. Seemed excessive to me.

Never seen it done but that’s a nice display of respect by Oregon.

I just checked out ticket prices. Looks like the Iowa dual is sold out. I’m seeing tickets on secondary market at $95. Season tickets are available for $48-$58. I’m guessing I could score a ticket at the door but that’s not a given.

They’ve never been to East Lansing.

Nebraska fans are super nice. Despite being mouth breathers, they’re quite welcoming.

I spent 10+ years posting on that board. They banned me when I became a moderator here. They just couldn't take it. Weak people

What are we thinking for a start time to the Stanford dual?
Its nice IA football plays the night before so I'm hoping to is about a 1-2pm match. Pregame a little before watching football and then catch big games after.
