3rd and Short This Year

That would be a prime spot for an audible if they have that in their playbook....

Anyone wanna try to guess the times we've audibled to a pass in a short yardage situation?

About as much as any other team that runs the pro set offense.

Basically what I was trying to ask is if anyone thinks (or knows if....) Iowa, under KF, has ever done it before.

No, I'm not expecting any yes's...that's why I ask though. Curiosity.

In any case, scheme appears to be the main culprit to me. We need to get more diversified with formation, blocking schemes, personnel, and playcalling. If our OL is getting confused on assignments, let's stop shooting ourselves in the foot by risking confusing blocking schemes in critical situations-or coach-up to eliminate the confusion.
Doesn't getting more diversified blocking schemes add to the confusion though? More things to remember. Or do you mean to simplify schemes on 3rd and shorts.

I am as excited about this offense as I have been in a long time, only concern is to replace the guys we lost to graduation on the oline, they will be tough to replace

A sore ankle doesn't explain coming to a dead stop upon contact rather than sliding/falling sideways for another 2 yards.

Sure it does, if your ankle is sore it's hard to push off to explode into the tackler

More schemes, but each of them simple. That generates less predictability which I think is the overriding problem.
