4* QB Petras still considering Iowa

Bro. Read the article. He clearly says he is sticking with Oregon State. His mom goes so far as to say they are a Beaver family. I wouldn't get your hopes up. It was a good effort but I think we rushed it slightly.

Is there hope, who knows? Link from TOS today; link: https://www.hawkeyenation.com/recruiting/ca-qb-spencer-petras-discusses-hawkeye-official-visit

This from the Land of 10 article that said he's sticking to OSU; however, this statement kind of muddies the water. Maybe LO10 cherry picked the statement?

“They (parents, I added for clarification only) were all part of the player panel that answered me and my family’s questions, which was awesome. All three of them seemed like great guys. It was awesome to just meet guys because those would be my teammates if I decided to go there. I got to meet (incoming recruit) Dillon Doyle. That was fun,” he said.

Petras and his parents asked non-football questions of the panel. They centered on time management and the requirements of the student-athlete at Iowa.

“They liked it,” Petras said of his parents. “They loved the coaches. They really enjoyed the city and the school as well.”

"We didn't get a flip" doesn't make too many people read articles. Hope I'm wrong but I'm not going to hold my breath.

When the coaches get a chance to speak to the parents it always gives Iowa an edge, the coaches are fantastic with parents. Had a player who was offered walk-on opportunity and the parents said if they ever offered they would immediately take the offer. Kid never got the offer and ended up getting 80% at FCS school and took that instead. Coaches are fantastic interacting with parents, they were particularly impressed with coach Reid (when he was there) coach Morgan, Coach Woods and when they met KF it was over....especially with the mother....parents want their kids to be molded by a man like KF

No disrespect or ill will intended Blair. I 100% understand how the "media" (sorry sir I'm putting you in that bucket) wants to spin it and keep people interested. You guys have a job to do. Maybe he is thinking about it, I just don't get the vibe he will flip. Hindsight is 20/20 but I wish they would have let him sleep the night after his game and come in midweek. He didn't join the big group anyway and didn't have a host because he was tired. I can only speak for myself but my host experience was a large reason I picked the school I did. I knew I wanted to be around those guys( and conversely had a visit where I knew I didn't want to be around that group of guys)

Ha, I'm still thinking about the poster who said he didn't like all the drama involved with the NFL. I hope the guy isn't following college football recruiting.
