40% of HORTGOAT is obese.

There are some liars in this thread. Statistics bear it out.
I'm guessing most of that 40 pct is sitting this thread out...as they continue to increase the cost of health insurance for the the rest of the population

It’s why so many are moving out of Iowa.

- every little thing the left doesn’t agree with.

Umm. The Republican Party is in control of every facet of the state government. That is not exactly healthy. Unfortunately, Kim went all in after her visit to DC and Trump. I actually agreed with her on most things before that. Take off your red hat and understand that at least 40 percent of this state disagrees with MAGA policies.

Show me the states where rural population is growing.

Maybe the democrats were going to build a $100,000,000 entertainment complex in Buffalo Center or some other small town to save Iowa.

Farms are bigger and need less workers. NAFTA seriously damaged a lot of manufacturing companies that populated rural communities. That’s economic reality. It isn’t some great flight out of Iowa to place where I can cut my kids genitals up.

The Republicans certainly dont have any ideas.

Is dirty water and offensive smells the calling card?

What does that have to do with this conversation? Did you state Dems were leaving the state because they don't agree with Republican policies?
Are you new ? Every thread where somebody doesn’t like a policy we read “and that’s why the population is dropping and people are leaving”.

I’m not obese, but I’m definitely working on my body, these last few years I’ve let myself go and it’s catching up to me. Heading to Cali in a little over a month and need to be in better shape for the outings we have planned.

Doesn’t have anything to do with anything. I don’t think the left should have a monopoly on railroading everything to politics.

The fact that you could not see the sarcasm is what I find really funny.
The fact that you never post sarcastically is also funny. Again, the right controls everything in this state. Correct? I am not understanding how the left has a monopoly.

Go to the rape thread. Somebody posted college grads are leaving Iowa because they can’t get a free abortion pill if and when they are raped. Is that sarcasm or fact or opinion?

That doesn't help. Again. You are avoiding answering. Is this a good policy by the state? YOU will lose the younger generations with these type of laws/policies. Edit: There is also a difference between moving from a rural area to urban ... or moving out of state.

Lets do a HROT weigh in.....and see how much weight we can lose. Honor system. I'm sitting at 234, mostly fluid in the belly, so I have an easier path. LETS DO IT!!!!!

I am about the same. For the last 20 something years, I get up to about 235 in the winter, and down to about 225 in the summer. I rarely get out of this range.

Kim Reynolds does not want anyone left of Center in this State. She and her party have made that perfectly clear.

Not making excuses, but my move out to the country had a lot to do with it. I used to walk my dog 2 or 3 times a day for a couple miles at a time and then just stopped. I’ve gotten back into that habit now and it’s definitely making a difference.

Eating was my problem. I workout roughly every other day. I swam a mile today.

I eat anything I want on Saturdays and then good eating Sun-Fri. Dont ask me why it worked, but it has.

6'4" and I've hovered between 242 and 246 lbs for the last 6 years. I could probably stand to lose 15 or so.

I graduated high school at 215 lbs, but I'll never get that low again without losing muscle.

My diet has remained pretty consistent, I eat a healthy plant based diet, but my nightly IPA’s didn’t help, especially once I was less active. I’m back to walking/jogging regularly and avoiding the IPA’s daily and it’s really making a difference. I’ve started adding a lifting routine as well, so hopefully I’ll get back to looking fairly buff soon. Getting older sucks!

Diet is key. You can’t outrun or out-lift a bad diet. I’m 6’5, 205 and ran a marathon last weekend (my 8th, CSB). I’ve had a bunch of friends gain weight during training because they claim they can eat what they want because they’re training for a marathon. They couldn’t be more wrong.

Keep up the great work with the lifestyle changes.

I trained myself not to buy sweets and fries. You can imagine there are times when I want stuff like that, but I just don't buy it.

That's how I did it. It was tough living in Brazil with a bakery across the street. When I moved, I conditioned myself not to eat those incredibly delicious salgados as they call them.

I used to have this incredible dr in CT. I called him Rasputin. We got into a lot of food arguments from time to time.
I asked him if he allowed his diabetic patients to drink diet soda, and he said it was better than them drinking soda. So then I'd lecture him on the chemicals.

But, we agreed that Type 2 diabetes comes from one's eating habits, that usually starts at a young age and the pattern develops. Abundance of potatoes, sugar, and refined grains.

Easiest thing in the world to do, switch out the potatoes at brunch today for fruit.

Dude for real so many people have told me that at first they judged me and figured I'd be a douche. Somebody has to carry that burden.

Listen, I want in in this circle jerk, I'm a long suffering in shape guy, preparing for a classic physique show...appearance, workouts, diet....all judged
