I shouldn't stoop to the level of an internet tough guy who makes no sense and calls strangers names online, but wth.
There's no reason that a person needs to have played to have an opinion on this, but I certainly wasn't a benchwarmer. I started every game my junior and senior year. It's hard to win? What does that have to with the price of tea in China? Of course it's hard. I worked my ass off and our team didn't win enough games to make the playoffs. I didn't cry because it's so "Hard to Win." The results weren't good enough and we didn't deserve it no matter how hard we worked.
Bowl games used to be a reward for a good season, not for trying hard and still losing. In football as in life people are rewarded for results. Maybe someday we can stop keeping score and just let everyone play in a bowl game so no feelings are hurt and give everyone a participation ribbon and orange slices after the game.
