51-49 Vote

Meh, we've been hearing this for 3 years now. It's time to realize Trump fully engrained into the DC culture and ways now and it's simply bau.

Seventy percent of Americans wanted the witnesses and to hear the truth.

This is a gift to the Dems. Will they screw it up? Probably. But long term this could work in their favor depending on what comes out over the next several months.

exactly what I'm saying: he is the new GOP. the new party. this is what the GOP is now. it's not old school gop any longer. basically it's tea party evolution. it's trump party now. call it a cult, fine. whatever.
For once in my life I agree with you. It’s really a relief to see some of you quit pretending. We know what you are.

exactly. The dems are pathological liars and hoax perpetrators.

The American people will not trust them with congressional leadership again for a long while

There's a lot of delusion in this thread.

Lol. And you wonder why people think Trumpturds are willfully ignorant sheep blindly following their cult leader.

As entertaining as this is, I gotta take the family out for dinner. Peace.

you believe fake news polls
That fake jim acosta/brian stelter poll was probably phrased like "if an honest man who could save the country, the president and the congress were allowed to testify-would you support it" ?.....as they called 100 grandmas with land lines after 8 pm

Shows this was just partisan BS or it would have been 80/20 against dragging this out. I wish they'd kept it going 5 days a week for the next 6 months.

I miss Marketplace on NPR. It's been pre-empted by this shit.

And WHY the senators would agree to have this stretch into prime time every night is beyond me....

this is a horrible horrible fail for Nancy and Schiff. both of them from cali, this is why I keep saying repubbers could take California back soon
Trump lost California in 2016 to Hillary (who ran a terrible campaign) by 4 million votes (greater than the entire population of the state of Iowa). In 2020, Trump will lose California by closer to 5 million votes.

I don't buy that stat for one second. You talk to normal people in every day life and they're totally tuned out on this garbage. Don't be naive.

And if California didn't exist, Trump would have won the popular vote in 2016.

You don’t talk with normal people, then. Multiple polls have demonstrated these numbers time and time again.
Similarly, those same polls have consistently shown a ‘removal/conviction’ preference around 51%, matching the disapproval numbers across multiple sources.

California has every right to be a state, so their votes count in the national tally.

Pretending that the Republican party is about to win statewide elections in California is absolute fantasy!

Here is the truth: 70% of Americans do not
care about the current impeachment sham.
It is strictly a partisan effort by the Democrats
to negate the results of the 2016 Presidential
election. Hillary lost in the Electoral College
and that fact still stands.

I don't think this is a good barometer. I imagine there's many people on both sides that may feel strongly one way or the other but don't want to air it publicly.

The last thing I want to do is get into talking politics and then find out it's a Trump supporter. I'd rather avoid it all together. It's almost taboo.

If you're at a similar in person as you are on here, I wouldn't be surprised if people purposefully avoid mentioning politics with you as they may have a guess where you land.

The problem for the Republican party going forward is that Texas and Georgia are probably Democratic or toss up states in the not too distant future. It will make presidential elections really hard to win. The Senate will always favor the Republicans.

I’ve said before you need a strong bipartisan majority to successfully impeach a president for high crimes and misdemeanors.

I've been hearing that bullshit for decades.

Now, Virginia finally went over to the dark side, but their overreach on gun control might make their majority short-lived.

Liar. Those two states were never considered turning blue until recently. Their demographics continue to change. It is possible Georgia votes for the Democratic President in 2020 and likely the Texas state house goes blue this cycle.

No, I'm not a liar. Liberal dreamers have expected Texas to turn blue for decades because they assume Mexicans will be solidly liberal like blacks.

But it doesn't work that way, and the liberals just can't wrap their heads around the idea of conservative Hispanics.

Georgia is more recent. Atlanta blacks are gaining power. But it's still a fantasy at this point.

But I do. Pretty wide cross section really. There is absolutely no way 70% of the population is remotely clued in on this, we rarely have 60% even vote in presidential elections.
A lot depends on how the question is asked as well. Ask 1,000 people if they think an impeachment trial should have witnesses and sure, 70% will say yes. Bc 90% of those 70 have no idea of the process.

I rarely if ever talk politics with people I'm not extremely close with, and even then its rare. Something most on the far left clearly lack the ability to do.
