7 Iowa vs 10 Temple in Brooklyn Friday

On the flip side, temple has to feel fortunate as a 10 seed given a matchup against a team that had a months worth of collapsing coming into the tourney.

Looks like they beat Minnesota by 5. I think we beat them by 4.

Just sayin...

Scores were eerily similar, too. 75-70 and 75-71.

Charles Barkley just said Iowa is battle tested. Fine, but I wonder if he even saw us play?

I know a lot of wrestling fans are not BB fans but could they double dip. If in the area depending on time of BB.
Quarterfinals of wrestling in the morning session, and the most exciting wrestling of the tournament with the semifinals on Friday night, does not bode well for many Iowa wrestling fans deciding to go watch a slumping Iowa basketball team on Friday.

If that leaked bracket is legit, I'd be super happy bc I decided after Iowa tanked that I'm adopting another small school to also root for in the tourney so it only made sense it would be Iona. And Iona plays Iowa State in that bracket.

Temple looks like they have 2 good guards (6-5 & 6-2). Look like they have a mobile forward who can shoot the 3 and also score some points.

will Nova fans be cheering for or against Temple? Do the Phily schools despise each other, or have brotherly love respect?

They see really well at night and can turn their heads almost all the way around.

Des Moines, St Louis, Denver, & OK City available and Iowa gets to go to Brooklyn and play East Coast teams - yeehaw!
I had rooms reserved in Denver, Oklahoma City and St. Louis. Going to Brooklyn just tops off a crappy 3 weeks. Will be heading to DM to watch games. No desire to go to Brooklyn.

Call me crazy but I like the Hawks style of play against teams who don't play them 2+ times a year. Also like the Ulis/Farrel matchup in Des Moines to boot.

We still have Pierre Pierce and for about 2 weeks, Kyle "Bonecrusher" Williams.

Pierre Pierce's coach was run out town and Pierre Pierce was one of the biggest reasons. Philadelphia is a shit town with shit people. Bring it, Temple. Bring it, Villanova. Oh, you're proud of a cracked bell? Kiss my ass pimple.

If Jok and Uthoff aren’t ice cold, we’ll be fine. Granted, that’s a big “if” as of late. I think our guards defend better, which is what you need in the NCAA Tournament. We are going to need one of them to make some perimeter shots, though.

Our guards will be smaller so we may not have as big a quickness issue as we sometimes do. If we have to hedge less we may not have to scramble on D as much and maybe Jok gets time at the two.

I'd like to think this is a decent match up for us. I think they will be physical and I don't expect much from the zebras.

Oh, I am rooting for temple. This temple team sucks. We rolled them by big numbers on their home court. Fran Dunphy always loses to villanova.

Iowa can get hot and win games. Temple is terrible.

Does a small Catholic school like Nova even have that many fans?

Is that a joke? Nova has a strong fan base. 7k is actually a pretty big school for the northeast, and all the school has is basketball, and they have been good for a few generations now, so the hoops fan base is solid.

Your game in brooklyn will have more nova fans than temple and Iowa fans combined. It's a90 minute train ride, and nova has a huge nyc alumni network.

Temple is the school with no fans. They can't get 5k fans to games. Nova pulls 20k for their big games.

Completely irrelevant, but if I recall, it Dom Uhl chose between Temple and Iowa. He was a strong Temple lean but somewhat surprisingly chose the Hawks (obviously)

Temple lost to Wisonsin by 16 and beat Minnesota by 5. Don't know what that means.
It means Iowa will let Temple hang around or lead for most of the game, we'll tie it and maybe even lead by 2 or 3 for a bit.....and lose close in the end.

Temple was also regular season champs in the American. They average over 68 ppg, but give up 67 ppg, so basically enjoy seeing at least one more late-game opportunity for the Hawks.

Similar to my prediction for senior night at Carver either we'll win by at least 7 or we'll lose by 7 or less.
