Wisconsin doesn't scare me for some reason. I actually think we 'match up' with them pretty well.
Illinois and Rutgers have the most right behind Iowa and I don't see having as much success as Iowa,.How does the number of freshmen compare to other BIG schools?
OK. I'll play evil's advocate. Historically under Ferentz our offense ranks in the bottom half of college offenses. Sometimes the bottom third. I like your optimism but until we can recruit big playmakers on offense, this won't change much.they have 6 new players on offense with 3 new Offensive Coaches with BF being as new OC.
new starters
QB SO Stanley
WR JR Easley
TE SO Fant
TE RSFR Hochenson
LT RSFR Jackson
RT FR Wirfs
new coaches
WR Coach Copeland
OL Coach Polasek
QB Coach KOK
Top reserves
RSFR RB Young
FR RB IKM
FR WR Smith-Marsette
FR WR Brandon Smith
that is a lot of young talent that is getting better. not to mention will be even better next season
how do you know that these won't be big time playmakers on offenseOK. I'll play evil's advocate. Historically under Ferentz our offense ranks in the bottom half of college offenses. Sometimes the bottom third. I like your optimism but until we can recruit big playmakers on offense, this won't change much.
Point taken. The game's in Madison. That scares me. At home, I would agree with you, but I haven't seen anything from this team on the road in the B10 yet. They seem to piss their pants on offense.
Illinois and Rutgers have the most right behind Iowa and I don't see having as much success as Iowa,.
the outlook for the Offense is very bright. Stanley is starting to move the pocket more by scrambling or rolling out, the OL has had 3 straight game where the same 5 have started, Butler is back and the workload on Wadley went down,
drops by the WR's and TE's are killing offensive drives which the total yardage some of you are demanding to make you happy, not to mention a couple possible TD catches.
you forgot the punting. Iowa had tremendous punting in 2004 and 2009. That is the most significant and crippling deficiency to Iowa's MO this year.and it has not stopped them in the past,
2004 7-1 BT Shared Championship total yards 3752.
2009 11-2 BCS Orange Bowl win 4372 total yards
in the 2015 season Iowa had 5404 total yards for the best offensive total in the KF era and some of you just couldn't wait to run GD out of IC.
face most of you won't be happy unless they are avg'ing 650+ ypg and 60+ ppg
stats are for losers the only thing that matters are the wins. anything else is for fans to thump their chest about a meaningless set of numbers.
don't have the specific numbers but its been noted that both those team are the 2 youngest teams in the BT. as for Iowa here are the freshman from the last 2 classesCan you put some numbers to this? Like how many has Iowa played, Illinois, Rutgers, O$U, Michigan etc. Some links to document this if you could. I don't need to know stars, 40 times etc. Just the numbers.
How do I know? History. Also our typically lower rated recruiting classes. We rely on too many "diamonds in the rough".how do you know that these won't be big time playmakers on offense
RB FR IKM
RB RSFR Young Wisconsin's POY who had 2700+ rushing yards as a SR whose best game was 314 yards rushing on 13 carries in the 1st round of the state playoffs
WR FR ISM
WR FR Brandon Smith
TE RSFR Hochenson
this is the biggest problem these FR are not putting up big numbers so you have already written them off.
