I went to a concert in Chicago last year, and the venue (old opera house converted to modern use), had just one giant bathroom for both sexes. It was a bit weird at first, but by the third time through (had quite a few beers), it wasn't awkward at all. People were respectful of privacy as much as possible and generally acted like adults taking care of an essential bodily function. It was actually really interesting, and it was nice being able to go to the bathroom with my no-pics in a big, unfamiliar place. I actually think that setup might discourage assaults and harassment. If someone had tried to pull something like that, there were about twenty dudes in the room who would have brought the hammer down.
Most likely he ends up with a battery conviction and mandated anger and violence courses from the court after he assaults a man with too-long hair and clothes he doesn't approve of. But we can all sleep soundly knowing the Bloke is out there protecting our women and children.

There are LITERALLY public bathroom areas in this country where MEN AND WOMEN are in the same bathroom. They will be washing hands at the same set of sinks. A man will be in one locked stall and a woman in the next. Nobody is freaking out in there. Again, fear fear fear. It works so well for them.
None of this is surprising though. I had a male co-worker who wouldn't pee on the days our gay band teacher was here. He admitted it to me. Now THAT is someone who probably shouldn't be teaching kids. A Trump voter.

I guess the real question is: what’s the alternative? Is someone like Sarah McBride supposed to use the men’s room? She clearly looks like a woman and there are no urinals in the women’s room, so, again, I don’t know what the alternative is? Just being honest and not hateful, I would be weirded out if someone like Sarah McBride walked into the restroom I was using and pulled up to the urinal next to me and started pissing.
I think the real issue is those pushing for this policy just want trans people not to exist.
