I admit I bought into the hype... NPOTY, experienced team, high remarks from pundits... but it might be time to dial back expectations a bit.
Hawks are a good team... top 20... but these type of losses solidify my thoughts there are too many holes to be a championship contender. Hopefully this is a team that finally makes a sweet 16 run with a decent seed and matchups.
This game...and there will be more like it this season...is just too draining as a fan. I cant be this invested anymore and need to learn to enjoy the ride. I dont think I'll see another garza on iowas roster for a long time.
But hell...maybe this is a wake up call for the hawks and these holes will be addressed. A Fran coached team hasnt taken that next step yet but there's definitely pieces on this team to do it.
