Andrew Long.. He gone

Crickets... Not surprised as the few that show up here to defend some despicable actions have ran out of ammo.

We Are...

Tell you what Mitch, if you want to see more ammo, you've got it. I held back on a laundry list of wrestlers from Iowa that have gotten into all kinds of trouble without being suspended for a single day. Since Marion's one semester "permanent suspension" (yea 9xs, he really paid the price, what a joke) you've had DUI's, disorderly conducts, public drunkenness, weapons charges, poaching, christ, you had a guy plead guilty to burglary over the summer that started in the opening dual in November!! Do you really think you have the higher ground here?

What about Ed Ruth. He sure got a slap on the hand by your coach.

um Logan Ryan wasn't convicted of anything.

We are........not about getting the facts right.

Ruth had a 30 day suspension, more then any of those guys got; and yes, I changed it from convicted to plead guilty. Does that make it better?

By 30 day suspension, you mean he was able to wrestle unattached during that time? Wow, what a disciplinarian your coach is.....

Again, more then anything your guys got and it did lead to a loss at the Scuffle against Dean. Cost him a Scuffle championship and broke his unbeaten streak.

Pretty sure Montell was off the team for 6 months and wasn't allowed to compete for the first semester. And I don't believe he's been in trouble since.

Probably not the best example when talking about discipline at Iowa.

Marion has multiple infractions. If you want to make an apples-to-apples comparison, compare him with one of the Iowa guys that got a DUI and got no suspension; and btw, when does the season start? So a majority of that time was in the off season. Probably not the best example when talking about discipline at Iowa.

Montell wrestled his first match on January 30th. He missed 2.5 months of the season and had no further legal troubles at Iowa.

Wow I've seen it all by FT now. Wanting to compare Long beating up cops and raping women and Sandusky raping little boys to public drunkenness and poaching. Unreal

We are....enablers

Yeah, our resident POS, aka Flying Tiger, apparently has forgotten which forum she's on. If you don't like the topic of conversation no one is twisting your arm to be here.

It might just be best to refrain from bashing Iowa wrestlers, as a visitor, on an Iowa forum. Pretty simple concept, really.

FT knows why AL was brought to HV. Hell... everyone knows.

The thread topic is not about an Iowa wrestler or any misdeeds by a Hawkeye.

If FT wants to converse with like minds, there's the BWI site. I am sure you're heard of it. The one where opposing views are banished for not sucking up to the mods or for not speaking highly of PSU athletes.

F*** , I mean scream at the top of my lungs, F***!!!!!!!!!! Man flying tiger your a damn idiot!!!

Awesome.

MItch, if you notice , I really don't attack Iowa over on BWI. I'm not going to get much resistance so I don't consider it very sporting. Guess we are different in that respect. Over here, I know you guys will be lining up to take your shots, but that's ok, I prefer it that way. Other then the occasional joke, I only post on here when I see the inmates taking over the asylum and it concerns extreme attacks on Penn State or Sanderson. In the end, you and several of the other anti-PSU contingent will never admit I make a valid point and just call me names or say I should be banned, however deep down you know a lot of what I say is supported in reality.

He was practicing for several weeks prior to that. It was just an amazing coincidence that his rehabilitation was complete and he was cleared to start right before the Penn State dual…

... and Alton had him pinned ;)

Keep changing the subject, honey! Not too many posters here give a crap what your viewpoint is.

This thread was discussing AL and if you REALLY think CS didn't play some part in his downfall... then you just verified to many of us that you have zero credibility.

Your little pack of bandwagonners over at the PSU site are some of the most uninformed college wrestling fans ever known to civilization. Wrestling forums apparently weren't created until CS arrived in HV. Is that why you post here so often?

PSU athletics, and some of the slime coaches that have been employed there over the years, are an embarrassment to college sports. Maybe you're aren't aware of the PSU image around the country?

In order to have a true apples to apples comparison between Marion and Long, Cael won't have had to buy Montell a bus ticket to Happy Valley and met him at the station with a Penn State singlet. Then I think we can compare the two.

There isn't anything even CLOSE to a comparison between the two wrestlers. It's just another attempt from a PSU groupie to deflect criticism and change the subject.
Unfortunately for Miss FT, no one is buying what she's selling.

They are not. They have been in a bubble since the day the country found out about Sandusky. There is no point in trying to explain their culture to a bunch of institutionalized cry babies.

Lets be real honest here, these two fan bases were never going to be friends.

1. They have envied us winning wrestling for all these years while they sat back and cried" but we have the best high school talent, its not fair". A lot of bitterness still exists even now that they are on top. You can tell them they got a great team but notice its still isn't ever enough for them right?

2. This last decade and a half of Iowa beating them in football didn't help any peace talks.

3 Sandusky. Since then they were put on the defensive and have never come back from that. You cant have a rational objective conversation because of the thin skinned its created. Every perceived slight gets escalated as an attack

Your kinda of admitting to trolling a little here.
Do you really expect the IOWA WRESTLING BOARD to spend time having a love fest for CS or PSU? Your points are not in the spirit of discussion as much as counter attack. Why any fan of an opposing team would coMe on this board expecting support for that opposing team other than general sportsmanship is beyond me. There is a PSU board. Use it to love on your guys. Coming on here starting pissig contests is a waste. Like it or not, Long was USED by CS to win a title with no apparent thought to what the kid needed. Does not in anyway absolved Long of responsibility. It is my hope, and the hope of the majority on this board, that Long gets his life in order. It may take years but I hope he does. Present circumstances not withstanding, he seems t be trying. College wrestling is over for him and that is sad but not the end of his life.

You don't know enough about the MM situation to make a comparison. I appreciate your thoughts most of the time and am glad you are so behind your team. However, your going to the other teams pep rally in your school colors wondering why everyone is not getting behind you. We are Hawk fans. Come on here for insight or thoughts on wrestling. Don't come on here thinking we are going to convert.

Ahh jeez FT, just stop. MM had to go through the Brands and the athletic admin to get back on the team. He was out for a full semester which means he did not practice with the team at all until the second semester...out of wrestling. IIRC, Ruth was practicing with the team and wrestling at opens all during his suspension.

But yea, totally comparable to Long's situation. Dude...you even cited the squirrel hunting.

If YOU notice some of us don't hang out on BWI. No reason to.

Knowing what I now do, I am very disappointed. He will probably be going back to prison in Pennsylvania.

Andrew was kicked out of Buzzard Billy's like 6 times that night. His drug test showed Marijuana, Cocaine and Alcohol.

He violated probation and I heard he was on a bus back to PA prison last Tuesday to do 2 more years.

Very sad if true (and I imagine it is). So many chances to get his ship turned around.

This makes me proud of the way TnT handled Montel off the mat to get his life turned around and on the right track. It isn't all about winning National Championships and wrestling. I do think that TnT (and all Iowa coaches in general) do a great job of helping their student athletes become great people and contributors to the community.

Should be a word to wise to people who ardently go to bat for athletes who are habitual criminal offenders. Many people were convinced he had turned things around based on nothing more than a few "feel good" newspaper articles and were highly critical of those who needed a lot more convincing.
