Anybody else watch Nova vs Purdue?

I watched a good bit of it. Purdue will be a load w those two as they will make our bigs look small.

Guard play will be the key to beating them bc their bigs will be too good for our young bucks this season.

Their guards play good on ball defense as well. That's a heck of a combination.

Seton Hall on Thursday night will be a huge test for us, even if they aren't the likes of Purdue or Villanova. Our young team needs lots more experience to hang in there with Purdue. The shots aren't going to come so easy on Thursday, but I hope we play hard and give it our best, win or lose. We'll also get a chance to see who Fran leans on in this game. All players aren't going to get equal minutes in this one.

The Buckeyes struggled at home tonight against N.C. Central.

There have been several Big Ten games already that were closer than I thought they should be. Might bode well for the Hawks.

Purdue wins easily if they make their FT's the last few minutes. Nova couldn't miss from the line. FT % from our bigs will go a long way determining how we do this year. All our bigs appear to have nice touch which should bode well.

Watching that game just proves that great guard play will always beat size.
Purdue is very sloppy and too many turnovers. I like their size, but their erratic guard play
Cost them the game.

I like Painter but I never thought his teams played very smart. Sort of the opposite of how Nova marched to its championship last spring.

Villanova is absolutely loaded

Nova is loaded with their starters back in Jenkins, Hart and Brunson off the NCAA title team but they only played 8 players for 200 minutes.

You know what they were not last night against PU....is very big. They started 3 guards in Brunson, Hart and Phil Booth with the tallest player being Hart at 6'5". Their tallest player was #45 Daryl Reynolds at 6'9" and they stilled slayed the Jolly Green giants in Haas and Swanigan who are both very good players.....and Haas is a mountain of man.

Kinda disappointed with ole PU that they could not beat this Nova team in their friendly confines with that size advantage and talent and good players throughout their roster. Just did not get it done.

Also watched NU last night against a Eastern Washington team who previously beat IU in Bloomington in years past back in 2014 I believe. Was impressed with both teams and their intensity on both ends of the floor getting after it. NU won by 14. NU will be tougher this year especially in Evanston.

Good thing we have a lot of bigs this year, we may need 20+ fouls again Purdue

He is an extremely defensive-minded coach. On the offensive end, they remind me a bit of our own football coach's philosophy. And similar to our own coach, he's won several B1G coach of the year awards.
