I’m in my 40s and I’ve noticed my strength isn’t what it used to be so I think I would be a good candidate for it. Just curious if anyone has tried it and would be willing to share their experience. Just looking for basic info like how much does it cost? did it work? did you do pills or a shot? did you go to a low-t clinic for this? etc….

My biggest hesitation is I don’t want to start something I would need to continue the rest of my life. If I do it for 2 years and then quit will my testosterone levels just revert to what they would have been anyway or is there a risk my body will stop producing it naturally?

ive heard once u start it you need to obviously keep using it, if you have any heart issues you arnt a good candidate. Also:

TRT has side effects, which may include:

Acne and oily skin
Lower sperm count, which can cause infertility
Increased risk of blood clots
Shrinkage of the testicles
Larger breasts
Increased risk of heart attack and stroke

I haven't used TRT but tried a few other approaches (experimental drug, topical) that didn't work. Decided it wasn't worth it to keep going. I'm not going to set any powerlifting records, but I could kill the average HORTer with my bare hands. That's good enough for me.

Yeah I could turn off the average HORTers. WiFi too. That's really all it takes :).

Are you trying to be as strong as your peak years? I am assuming of course in your peak you were a person with above average strength and athleticism.

You are now over 40, so most people aren't as strong and don't produce the same amount of testosterone you did in your 20s. Getting old sucks!

You should probably see a doctor to see if your testosterone levels are lower than normal and see the options available to you if they are. Or just put in the work in the gym to get stronger even if it isn't what you were in your prime. Do you even lift, bro?

I’m 45. I can lift more now than I could at 25. I’m not quite as fast but I can still move. No TRT or drugs.

Now, to be fair, I workout more consistently than I used to. I’m dialed in on my diet and workout routine. And it takes me longer to recover. I’m sometimes sore for a few days.

So, while I’m older, I counter it by healthy lifestyle and consistency. I try to drink no more than two nights a week; most weeks just Saturday.

That’s all accurate. Honestly if I’m no longer quite as strong as I used to be it doesn’t bother me a ton, just trying to age gracefully and stay feeling young as long as possible. I’m not sure if my link will work but it was this post on instagram that really got me thinking about it. Lots of people in the comments seemed to have had good results with taking some additional testosterone so I figured I would at least look into it a little.

I’ll say this, I may be stronger now than I was, but packing on muscle is more difficult. I’m toned but by now means jacked/ripped. The strength is there, the size is not. If you want to build muscle, TRT is the way to go.

no but I want to. Tell me how you are going to do it. My real Dr laughs and says I'm fine.
