  • Something about OPs mom.

    Votes: 10 7.6%

  • Poll closed .
Maybe I just like the 3rd option sometimes. Maybe political people are super easy to rile up and I need entertainment on my breaks at work. Maybe both.
What makes you think we're not enjoying watching you guys squirm trying to make some sense of your positions? This is sport.

I used to be that.... hadn't voted since 2000, because voting for the lesser of two evils is a logical fallacy. But that's in a perfect world. But Trump and MAGA has to be stopped, they are a huge threat to our Democracy and society.
Rachel? Is that you?

Easily.

If Haley could pull out the nomination I vote Haley.

If Trump wins the nomination I vote Biden(again).

If it’s Trump/Biden and their is a viable 3rd party candidate who I like and could win, I vote for them. Think Cheney or Manchin or even Haley.
Cheney is a no. Manchin is a yes.

My thoughts are if you think Trump is the worst person that’s ever lived, or even the worst person to lead a country you need to open a book.

The hyperbole in this thread is palpable, but I’m here for it.

Also, if anyone thinks Biden has a stutter and he’s only weak physically and not cognitively……there’s really no point in discussing
You are a shallow thinking person, who accepts TikTok as a source of information.

Thanks for sharing, it's mostly paywalled and I don't subscribe. But I can read the subheading:

"John Adams worried that “a division of the republic into two great parties … is to be dreaded as the great political evil.” And that’s exactly what has come to pass."

I'll just say that it makes sense to me that John Adams was worried because even at that time he realized that the system that they designed would result in two great parties....

And that for me is the most motivating factor to eliminate the electoral college. As long as it’s in place it will be RvD.

BTW, it matters not at all how much you like that third option. You can declare that third option is the absolute love of your life. You'll never sniff it. Not an opinion - that's just how it works.

Agree.

I'm tired of people telling me how I should vote. My options are more than 2 people. Nothing will change if everyone keeps selecting the lesser of two turds. We will continue to get turds.
The politicians don't care. It won't change until there is a legit 3rd party and the Dems and Repubs have made that nearly impossible. You are going to be standing on the sidelines for awhile.

Cause you keep beating that drum…doesn’t make it true

I'm pretending I'm being noble or moral? I'm using my vote how I see fit- its assholes like you who try and shame people for doing so; or tell them its a futile exercise. While you might believe two party is all we will ever have, doesn't mean I will have to accept it.

Arguing with you is a futile exercise, and yet here I am.

I don’t think you’re being noble or moral, I think you’re being obtuse in arguing with another poster over something you should have realized was the truth since high school.

A third party candidate will never win the presidency under the current system. NEVER.

No one is stopping you from running for mayor or governor or Congress on whatever ticket you like. Until you have people willing to do that with a message that actually resonates, you've got nothing. Build a party. Stop pretending voting for a sacrificial lamb every four years means anything.

Perhaps I’m communicating it wrong. I’d like it to happen. It’s what should happen. Two party system is not what the intent was.

But I agree it’s unlikely.

The FFs intended for the president to be chosen by the House. They didn't trust the citizens to make that choice - they expected every election to be thrown to the House. If you think that's a better option, then pursue multiple parties. Your choice is clear - two major parties fighting for a majority of the 538 electoral votes or the lame-duck outgoing House chooses the president.

While I am concerned about our democracy if Trump wins, I’m even more concerned that he’ll put blacks back in chains on plantations and Jews in concentration camps.

How do I get behind it? Are you mad because I'm calling out you @Jan Itor cult leader?

Well if you would rather take a slave owner over Trump, who has never owned slaves but you can “just imagine what he would do to them”…… I mean I’m not sure I can follow.

Also, who’s mad?
