Apparently Mac Markway now a Niblet…

Out of curiosity, why would Iowa project a four star, no. 7 overall TE in the 2023 class as an OL player? It states his time at Iowa was spent with Brian Ferentz discussing how he fits at TE and how they're used. Makes no sense and there is nothing on the web discussing it at the time.
Logan Lee? Oh wait, now he's a drafted DL that just made a 53 man roster for the Steelers. I think the coaching staff knows this position quite well.

Is a niblet anything like giblets?

You've then never followed Iowa football then?

TEs with good frames have regularly gotten developed into 1st round O-linemen at Iowa. Iowa originally projected him on the OL given his frame. As they continued to recruit him, they said that they'd give him a shot at TE first (if that is what he wanted). However, at that point, Marc was concerned that Iowa was still considering him "first" for the OL.

Truth be told, Marc projects fine as an in-line blocking TE. However, he just didn't project as well at Iowa's "featured" move-TE. If you look at Kittle, Hockenson, and LaPorta ... each of those guys were just big WRs in high school. They were guys who had excellent speed and athleticism for their size ... but they just didn't project at WR. Furthermore, since they really didn't have much blocking on their resumes ... most schools didn't project them at TE. That's largely because many schools recruit using a "talent acquisition" model. Iowa is a little different insofar that it recruits with development in mind. From Iowa's perspective ... they knew that the could teach kids to block ... but you cannot teach a guy to have that combo of size, speed, and athleticism. Furthermore, seeing that those guys were WRs ... they each possessed high-level ball skills. A lot of kids coming out of high school who are "pure" TEs often have bad habits ... particularly as it relates to ball-skills (they often catch the ball too much with their body).

Anyhow, Iowa's track record with TEs is so good that I'm not going to question how they project guys.
