Nope, too busy laughing at our pathetic neighbor to the north.Does anyone know?
With you maybe but not the University. If we go 7-5 or worse than expectations we're not met and Ferentz is on the hot seat.
Does anyone know?
That's very true.. The U of I is a coaches dream because they accept mediocrity and reward past performance to a higher degree than most programs. With you maybe but not the University.
Why, you want to hire him now?Does anyone know?
My comment was not meant to be smart-assery but I'm just at a loss at how many threads calling out haters, Ferentz haters, Ferentz fans, apologists etc there are after a game that should have actually brought a bit of peace to the boards. This is one of the funnest, greatest most watchable games I've seen in 20-30 years so I'm going to just enjoy it. Most(not all) of the trolls or at least the trolls of other teams are gone this week and it has been nice. That's very true.. The U of I is a coaches dream because they accept mediocrity and reward past performance to a higher degree than most programs.
I thought Haden's departure was mainly a result of his health?Ferentz will be allowed to retire the way Hayden Fry did. Hayden realized he would have to start over with the loss of many top assistant coaches. He also no longer had the energy to recruit the way he did when he 1st arrived at Iowa. He was also given the privilege to help name his successor. Fry saw the program getting stale so he decided it was time to retire.
I think Ferentz will be at Iowa until he feels that he doesn't want to put up with the BS anymore and Brian is ready to take over.
We all know what you think of Ferentz and that Iowa should be able to become a Ohio State or Alabama. You're blinded by the light bud. Nebraska, Purdue, Illinois, Minnesota, and even Michigan have thought they could fire and hire there coaches at will to get to the promise land in a matter of 2-3 yrs. Even Michigan fans are having 2nd thoughts because Harbaugh can't beat MSU or OSU. Iowa's program in modern history never was or ever will be OSU. The area Iowa draws recruits from is a recruiting desert compared to teams in the southwest, southeast, east, and the west. They compete against ND, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Illinois for the same good recruits in the Midwest. Many of those good recruits in other states will stay home rather than go to Iowa. Iowa's out of state recruits are many times leftovers that the home school has little interest in. To call Iowa mediocre is an insult. Mediocre teams don't beat ranked teams like OSU, Michigan, Penn State and even your highly rated Wisconsin. A Mediocre team is an Illinois, Purdue, Rutgers, and Indiana. That's very true.. The U of I is a coaches dream because they accept mediocrity and reward past performance to a higher degree than most programs.
