I will start this

ARMY team A+++ for 1) joining the Army, protecting our country/freedom, and while attending West Point, which aint easy. Wrestling too! 2) For taking on the HAWKS on short notice. Regardless of how everything goes moving forward. I think you will all have an awesome experience in Carver and I salute you!!!!

I’m giving Iowa the A+. There were a lot of good match-ups and a lot of fun wrestling to watch. Eierman, worth the price of admission. The Bull anchoring the second half of the line-up. Brands, picks him up over his head. Myles, jacking up the double under going beast. Glazier, incredibly nice single guy had very good single leg defense as Cobe saw. Ybarra, getting it done in OT. DeSanto, twisting the throttle. Cassioppi, twisting some arms and necks. And Young, gettin it done.

Army put out a good team, it looks like they made the most of their time in Iowa. A+++ for all the reasons mentioned by IRONBIRD. ^^^

First time ever trying to grade.
Army A+ - I'm so happy we got to see wrestling this weekend!
Ybarra B I missed most of the match getting my Carver Cone. I think he looked good in SV hope he can get more aggressive early in the match.
ADS A He looked crazy out of the gate, then kept up the pace and he got some back points which I did not see as often out of him in the past.
EIERMAN A+
Cobe C- I don't have a strong opinion one way or another on this match. It seemed like a tough match-up for Cobe. He kept it to a major which showed some grit. I hope to see Mad Max out there soon.
Young B+ A solid effort. Kaleb is who he is at this point. I think he would be the best wrestler on a lot of teams.
Bull A+
Brands A- A total physical domination even though Brands looked smaller. It is to bad for Brands that he has Kem Dawg at his weight. Brands looked like he was having fun wrestling. It will be interesting to see who is where weight wise at the end of the season.
Myles A Myles is really fun guy to watch. I'm curious to see who will be the man at 184 this year.
Glazier C- He looks a bit over matched at this weight to me. I hope Warner is going to be ready to go.
Cass A+ glad to see him back in the saddle.

Army A+ thank you for showing up!
Ybarra: B- nice win in OT but needed to do more in regulation to deserve a higher grade
Desanto: A Desanto is a bad man.
Eierman: A If you are not entertained by the Riddler I don’t know what else to tell you
Seibrecht: C tough match for him but saw some things I liked.
Young: B Kaleb is who he is nice bounce back win keep digging Kaleb
Bull: A- would like to see him clean some stuff up but got the job.
Brands A crazy thing is Kem is better
Wilson: A- tough as nails like him a lot maybe better than Assad have to wait and see I guess
Glazier: D maybe he is to small but definitely struggles from bottom. I thought he was better than what he has shown so far.
Cass: A same as the Bull needs to clean some stuff up but good bounce back win. Still 2nd or 3rd best Hwt there is just a few things needed cleaned up.

Ybarra- B: This was pretty typical of any match he wrestles vs a decent wrestler. He has good defense but really struggles to generate offense.

Austin- A

Jaydin-A

Siebrecht- C: Neutral defense is an issue for him.

157- B-, looked better but still a close call from being in trouble.

165- A-, still has some rust going on.

174- A-, doesn't even look like big 174. Great effort, opened up well.

184- B, love the effort by Myles and strong as can be but not sure the technical ability is there to be a point scorer and we need that here.

197- C, repeat of last week. Too small for 197.

Cass- A

DeSanto -A
Riddler - A
Young- C- does he know what offense is
Bull- B, seems like he’s pacing himself but I’m ok with that at this point in the season
Brands - A+ just an absolute manhandling, gonna be trouble at 174 next yr
Cass - A+, light work

*Glazier ain’t ready

125: Underwhelming--needs to stop farting around and get to his offense. Beating a kid in SV who's ranked #124 and never had a winning season doesn't get me excited thinking about Ybarra as next year's starter at 125 or 133.
133: A
141: A
149: Underwhelming--shut down after giving up the first TD (Ironside agrees). Ogunsanya is good, but this was an opportunity for Siebrecht to exceed expectations, and he failed.
157: A-
165: A
174: A. Nelson looks good at 174.
184: A-
197: Underwhelming--3rd year in the room and hasn't cracked the top 60. Glad we've got Warner back next year.
285: A

Hoping Ybarra had some Carver jitters, because he took the least amount of shots by an Iowa 125 lber in decades. He got a W, that's the good news.

Siebrecht got throttled, might be the last we see of him this year. If Murin is injured get Turk some mat time. Glazier is undersized, the last two matches show what happens when you're undersized, but keep working and getting bigger and see what happens in 2 years.

Brands needs some top game in the worst way, but good to see him wrestle guys his own size that he can deal with. He'll be a decent 174 when Kem is done.

B for the Bull is a little harsh. He tenderized that guy til he was broke then pinned him…

He’s not likely going to be the starter at 125 or 133 next season.

149 Murin
157 Reyna
165 Kennedy
174 Brands
184 Assad
197 Warner
Hwt Cassioppi
Is that what you think next year looks like

If I were a betting man…more or less, yes. Perhaps they look for a transfer at 157 as Reyna looks more like a 149. And I believe Wilson has another year left and could be a factor at 184.

Turk hasn't exactly looked good this year. It's hard to take a year off and come back. He's probably not the guy he used to be. Unless things look different at his next open, I'd put him 3rd behind Siebrecht and Reyna for the back ups.

So, is Wilson starting at 184 b/c he's beating Assad in the room or b/c Assad isn't 100%? Wilson is freakishly strong and appears to be quick-twitch -- maybe more so than Assad -- but I agree with MVP that he's a bit raw technically. I should add that I like to watch him get after it.

I haven't seen much of Turk, who was very Murin-like in his previous life, that's why I'd recommend him getting some mat time. Maybe he lost a step, but he's always been solid and maybe just needs to knock the rust off.

Siebrecht got shut down by the old vet, hopefully he learned something and gets back on the horse. Have to assume Murin gets back to work one of these days and then the backup won't matter much. Unless Reyna proves he's that much better than Turk, no reason to pull a redshirt.

We've got some work to do at 184 yet. I have a hard time believing Abe Assad won't right the ship eventually, but early returns are a bit iffy for both of these guys. Long season ahead, we'll see what happens.

When Myles Wilson got the double underhooks on the Army guy I thought he was channeling his inner Triple H and going for the Pedigree

Maybe. But that doesn’t change my thought that a transfer might be strongly considered.
If that doesn’t happen I feel Riggins will be are best option at 157 next year. Was hoping to see both Rathjen and Renya competing at 157 is year to better prepare for the spot next year.

If he was weighing in at 178 last year then he wasn’t big for 174, much less 184.
Not trying to sell Brands short, but seems he could go 165 if PK determines at some point 174 is the better fit. PK looking good at 165 so I hope he can hold it long term. No idea if the cut is hard for him or not, just going off the fact he’s been at a higher weight for several years now and also realizing he could easily get away with it in HS.

Pretty sure there have been a few Lee matches in Carver where he has only taken a single shot (then he gets the takedown and 4 turns and the match is over in two minutes).
If you don't understand I can't help you.

Hopefully the portal continues to be a friend. Like it or not (the portal) I believe TnT might lose some on signing day that eventually become Hawks.
