Officials take a game-tying putback off the board in the NW/Penn State game in a review for goaltending.
It makes you not want to watch anymore. Utterly inept at best, corrupt at worst. They showed the last non call on psu

That was my first thought. Seemed a bit tasteless on his partCan you broadcast who is making nil on the air?
Good guard playMan, Illinois is looking good against Oregon tonight. By the end of the year, they are going to do well in the tournament.
Just destroying the #9 team on their home court.Man, Illinois is looking good against Oregon tonight. By the end of the year, they are going to do well in the tournament.
It is a record. Largest margin against Top Ten on the road. 😳Just destroying the #9 team on their home court.
Shit. 109 pts 30+ point win AT top ten ranked Oregon. That was impressive.
Oregon is probably not a legit top 10 team (although they did beat Alabama and Tex A&M) but still...a 32 point win on the road is a huge outlier performance for this league. I wonder how many times a Dana Altman coached team has been beaten by 20+?It is a record. Largest margin against Top Ten on the road. 😳

Calling it now -- Iowa by 12 (91-79) on 2/25 in Champaign.

No comment other than to say I'll reserve my bitching about refs for when Iowa plays.
Some of both. wash is not a good team, but they're not terrible. The terps have some good pieces and they are decent. But they're inconsistent in team play and effort.Washington knocked off Maryland. Is Washington not as bad as everyone thought?
Take Queen out of the game & Maryland gets in trouble. Queen had foul trouble last night.Washington knocked off Maryland. Is Washington not as bad as everyone thought?
Agree to disagree. Kenpom and Torvik have Illinois #8 and #5 respectively, and they certainly look the part to me. Especially, since they're so young, and new to each other, and have a significant margin for improvement between now and March. There is no legit top 10 team in the B1G.
There are a few top 20. But most between 20-50. It's a balanced league. Not a great one.

It was between this and hoping for peace in the Middle East for me. I went with the middle east...better odds.Let's hope for a fair whistle at Kohl Center.
"A lot"The B1G hasn't been a great conference in Basketball for awhile now, which contrasts with the 1980's, 90's, early 2000's when Big10 was winning a lot of National Titles.
I'm not seeing it.Agree to disagree. Kenpom and Torvik have Illinois #8 and #5 respectively, and they certainly look the part to me. Especially, since they're so young, and new to each other, and have a significant margin for improvement between now and March.
There's no Purdue with a human cheat code this season but there are some very good teams in the league. It won't be surprising at all to see a B1G team in the Final Four, imo. UCLA, Illinois, Michigan, Michigan State.... Maryland. All really solid teams that can play with anyone.
You better play defense or Illinois will put 100 on you at home.Oregon is probably not a legit top 10 team (although they did beat Alabama and Tex A&M) but still...a 32 point win on the road is a huge outlier performance for this league. Yes you are correct, I agree Final 4's and Elite8's and Sweet16's are better metric because winning the title is so binary--so I mispoke. That said, although 1990's didn't have a title for B1G, the year 1989 and the year 2000 did have B1G ten teams as champions--that is dry spell of 11 years. The current B1G dry spell in NCAA mens basketball titles is 24 years although we did have some 2nd place finishes."A lot"
80s -- Indiana ('81, '87), Michigan ('89)
90's -- ZERO B1G teams won a Title -- 0
00s -- Michigan State ('00)
4 championships in 30 years (now 40+)....ah, yes...the golden age of B1G basketball.
National championships is really a dumb way to measure the strength of a league because the single elimination format is a terrible way to determine the best teams.
Going by final fours, the B1G has been the second or third best league in the country for most of the last 40 years. I don't think any league comes close to putting the number of different teams in the FF over that time. Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Purdue, Indiana, Illinois...that's also a sign of a strong league.
