I hear you but we wouldn't need to be envious of talent on other teams if our staff put the work in to identify and recruit talent to the team in the first place. It takes a game plan and dedication to get it done these days.

Not really the point but ok. Was stating that Iowa doesn't really think about not going under a really tough rider when have had trouble getting out and have a better opportunity on our feet. Also when we try to go upper body with a guy who only knows greco. Just kind of stuck in our ways no matter what.
Probably not. Brooks had a major in the finals and gained .5 more team points than Spencer.
Big recruiting miss there. Joliet Catholic kid with multiple younger brothers. Him and Hardy would look great in black and gold. Guessing Hardy would have no trouble making 149 next yr.

I wanted to see Spencer come away with bonus in the finals, but it was nice to see him with a TD in the third period. Looks like he’s got his sea legs under him.
I don’t think PSU wrestled down; I think Iowa was just that good/competitive, especially with all the bonus points. PSU has averaged 145.2 points at Big Tens in Cael’s nine NCAA championship seasons and scored 147.0 today. Iowa just put up a strong fight.
Our biggest recruiting misses were Sasso and O’Connor. And they grew up as Hawk fans. I’ll never understand TnT not even trying to recruit them.
Not landing Hoagie Hidlay or Bouzakis rank pretty high up there as well. Although, getting Hidlay was a very uphill battle with his brother already at NCState.
Still, if Iowa had 1, or even both, now they would be right there with PSU…
