backup QB transfer to another BIG10 school??

Maybe Weismann can get an extra year of eligibility and start at Wisconsin?

Jake Rudock was a below avg QB at best. That is just a fact. There is a reason our team was as bad as it was...and a reason 80% of the fan base wanted CJ Bethard to start even though CJ has one of the lowest completion percentages of any hawk in the Ferentz era. Meanwhile, Michigan landed two 4 star STUD QBs this year, one last year, and a 4 star stud two years ago. I'm pretty sure Harbaugh isn't drooling over film of Rudock's check downs on 3rd and 10 and his 3 yards per pass average.
I love it when people do this. Lol do you not know what a fact is? That's your opinion. My opinion? In the offense he was recruited for (KOK) Jake Rudock could be an above average quarterback! But he plays for GD now, and it's not a god fit.

Now that's my opinion, because a fact is indisputable. Like you're an idiot troll, that my friend is a fact.

Moneyinthebanks did not watch a single Iowa football game last year...that too is a fact. If he had, he would not be under the impression that the "system" is why Jake checked down on virtually every pass play called (or at least the ones he did not audible to a run on). He would also know that Jake has a very weak arm relative to other college qbs, and gets happy feet the moment after he is hit the first time. He would know that Jake's decision making was poor (especially on 3rd down, where he would rather complete a pass for 1 yard gain than take a chance at gaining a first down by throwing the ball down the field). CJ and Jake played in the same exact "system," as did Vince Young and others. The system does not force a guy to check down to the 4th option on a passing play...fear of making a mistake does and a desire to go with the low risk low reward option.

Wonder why a poster who can't understand this simple concept would name himself "iowalaw"?

Keep up the good fight, ignorant people need to be educated.

I did actually, I was at every home game and watched every away game. It's okay to say CJ is better than Jake. I'll say it too, CJ was/is better than Jake. But with your limited football knowledge, it's NOT okay to say Jake is a below average QB at best. He's solid. He's put up decent stats the past 2 years without a consistent run game. And who's fault is a lack of consistent run game? Greg Davis.
Who's fault is it that he had receivers that couldn't consistently get open against man coverage. KF and the coaching staff. Second half vs. Wisconsin when the offense opened up, go look up JR's numbers and tell me what they were. Same for the second half vs. Pitt for CJ. First half vs. indiania and NW.

Bottom line, when the offense is opened up and were not working in a phone booth, this offense moved the ball WITHOUT a legitimate running back. I doubt Blake Bortles, Jameis Winston, or any other pro-style QB would've made that much of an impact running stretch plays with a Full Back.

But keep trying, humor me.

Jake is solid and he is very smart. i think he is smart enough to know he has certain limitations in his skill set. i think he checks down so quickly because if he doesnt see exactly what he wants in the deeper routes immediately, he knows he has to check down. i cant prove this but i think when jake went long, he really had it in his head pre-snap that is where he was going. obviously, for the most part, that didnt work so well. When Jake did throw long later in a play, many times he underthrew or was just late. Jake knows his arm has limits. He has to really get his whole body into a deep throw. CJ has a stronger arm. In Iowa's awful offense, without a number of recievers that can get decent seperation,
i think CJ provided a better option as i feel he could make throws jake can not and he can sometimes throw guys open.

blair S just reported in the lounge that highly unlikely jake going to Mich.

doesnt obviously rule out other schools.

So, if Jake was the 12th rated QB, where's CJ? 15th? LOL.

Face it, CJ is different than Jake, but not necessarily better. If Jake is "below avg at best," so is CJ.

Sorry for the bump, just was sad to me to see Foley's farewell thread above a thread that involves a transfer of our (former?) starting QB for most of last year.

Has anyone heard any other rumors about this topic? Last thing I heard mentioned, Kakert confirmed on the radio (can't remember if 1460 or 1700) two days ago that he is no longer working out with the team, but rather our graduating seniors (think he mentioned Lowdermilk and maybe KMM?). Seems like something more would have come out in the last 2 days...
