Barkley, better than Fournette, Cook

You've got me there. I mean against their one common opponent (Michigan), FSU started their second string left AND right guard, rolled out a RT that started spring ball playing DE and Cook still had 145 yards and over 7 ypc. Keep rolling out opinions, I'll keep shooting them down.

Clearly, the only opinions that matter on here are the psu fans.

You do reallize that DJ was in college when I saw him play and IMO DJ was better college player. But you are right Barkley is the greatest RB of all time, I'm was so wrong to think that after 35 years of coaching that somebody else was better.... I'm so glad you set me straight. I can sleep better tonight...

@Mr. Chim you should just exit this thread. This guy has 35 years of coaching experience. Kind of reminds me of another guy we are familiar with. Bet they both are on staff for the same NFL team.

Well you two will always have each other at least I guess. You can knee slap and guffaw till the end of time waxing poetic about Barkley and your rock solid take that he is the best to ever step on the gridiron. So so beautiful....

Lol literally have never heard of him.

Regardless just checked the stats and he's not even TOP 10 for rushing yards in the league lol. Who does he even play for?

He had over 1200 yards last year I believe.
He’s from Clifton , Iowa. That my give you some understanding with the Johnson stuff.

He also had over 800 yards receiving last year. For you psu fans, that's over 2000 yards in his first season as the starter. That is pretty damn good.

I am not saying Johnson is the best. Just pointing out that there are other talented players out there, even if they don't play for psu.

Oh I get that . Barkley is getting a lot of hype because he’s this years guy. So they’ll compare him to recent backs and psu folk will compare him to prior psu running backs .
Most say he’s the best at psu and they’ve had some nfl hall of famers, Harris and Moore along with Lydell Mitchell and Warner.
Carter was an injury bust but he was a number one pick. Of all those guys most but Barkley at the top of the heap.
Other guys like Elliot? Cook? They don’t matter to me because they’re not helping psu win right now. If Barkley stays healthy at psu he’ll set most career records at psu over three years of college , no redshirting .
And if he gets to the combine safely he’ll go near the top of the draft. After that I’m not concerned because I don’t watch the nfl anymore. Just lost interest. But I guess he’ll have a good career.

The real question is why do you think that just because you only follow psu and their players and arbitrarily acknowledge current players from other college teams that it eliminates players outside your self defined parameters, despite the glaring fact that you didn't start the thread or define who is being discussed? You come off as a pompous dipshit.
Here's a little hint one last time, most observant people can acknowledge that S.Barkley is a very good player... BUT not all of them will agree that he is as good as you think he is. The original post questioned his potential vs two backs that are in the NFL, which I agree is unfair and really not relevant at this point. But that was the question.. and you can't just simply dismiss the other half of the topic because they aren't playing for psu and still be considered unbiased or a complete homer. The thread topic wasn't "which psu running back is the best?".

It would be pretty cool to see Iowa shut down Mcsorley and keep it close so Barkley could put up around 350.

What would really be interesting is if Barkley is shut down somehow and Wadley ends up being the one that runs for obscene numbers I wonder what the reaction would be for the PSU crowd at that point?

Why would that change anything? Saquon Barkley is the greatest college running back since Barry Sanders.

Wadley could go for 250 yards and Barkley could have negative yardage and I really wouldn't care as long as Penn State won.

PSU fans have seen a lot of great backs who fell flat on their face in the NFL so I wish him well when he moves on but I'm not putting him in the HOF just yet. He's a solid CFB RB though. Where he ranks? Don't really care.

I would agree with that Barkley is the real deal.
I'm a Hawkeye but a person as to give credit where credit is do.

Lmao, your serious too. Wow. I can already name one college back that has had better numbers for a single season just off the top of my head. Funny thing is, he went on to do nothing in the NFL. 2012 Kadeem Carey.

Don't need to show you proof - Look for yourself - your a liar

Do you happen to have a cousin in Pa? Goes by the screen name pnnylion among others ? Like tranny websites ? If not you two should meet up. You’d be a smashing couple.

This thread reminds me of an old Star Trek episode. You could take some posters in this thread, lock them in a time loop and, they could argue about this forever. :)

Size, speed, acceleration, vision, good hands, Barkley is an exceptional talent no doubt about it. Huge challenge for the Hawk defense and he is just part of the equation, Tough matchup for Iowa's defense this week, going to take an exceptional effort to pull this one out, The good news is we have seen magic with night games at Kinnick before, maybe once again!

Another stupid post by an uninformed poster - liar

Barkley had 358 total yards , just saying .

Bend don't break defense, yup. Looks like Iowa's defense did just fine though and it seems like the whole talent difference was a little overblown. Your boy looked a little knicked up at the end, hope that ankle heals up ok.

I think he's the best I've seen since Barry Sanders. Different style but similar in that he is so hard to bring down. Whenever it looks like he is bottled up for a 2-3 yard loss he turns it into a 7 yard gain. That's what Barry did although it was often an 80 yard gain for Barry.
