Been watching the Arkansas coaching search threads and wow what a witch hunt.
- A plane flies from Fayetville to Iowa City so Fran had to have interviewed for the job. Seems logical after seeing the same charter flight went to Minnesota and then to Reno.
- Even after Fran said I have not interviewed for the job or talked to Arkansas, some reporters said he must be lying.
- Then Barta has to interview with the media to say he didn't
- In the end, Steve Forbes was in Iowa City after the death of his father. Arkansas flew into Iowa City to see him.
- Wonder what kind of impact that rumor had on our recruiting
- It was also interesting to see speculation on who would replace Fran. Some fans were excited, many weren't. Interesting watching that play out.
- I for one am glad Fran is staying, he is a high integrity guy, graduates his players and we made the top 32. A lot of talent coming back, so next winter could be interesting.
- I want to wish the young man all the best
- He never got the respect he deserved. Yes he turned the ball over a lot and took ill advised shots but he was a highlight waiting to happen. Led the Hawks in scoring and rebounding but could be soooo much more. Should have been a double-double machine.
- Without a quality jump shot and an unwillingness to stay on the blocks and rebound I question he'll make an NBA team. There is a lot of money to be made off shore though.
- Yes his athletic skills will be missed but the team never seemed as cohesive when he was in the line-up. I looked at road wins at NW and PSU when he didn't play. The team passed better, played better team defense and worked inside more, so even though we are losing a star talent we may be better next year.
- Here again, I want to wish Maishe all the best
- Miashe, no matter what Gary Dolphin says he couldn't carry your jock strap on his best day.
- I saw improvement in his game especially on defense. I think he could have helped next year but I think minutes was his biggest issue.
- What a season for that young lady and the team, I never watched women's basketball much but I got caught up in her great performances and origins in little Port Wing, Wisconsin. Hard work, dedication, belief in team and last but not least a terrific role model for young women defines Megan
- Coach Bluder was named National Coach of the year, well deserved. What a treat it was to see her not try to be the center of attention on the sidelines (yes Kim Mulkey, I'm talking to you, orange outfit and caked on make-up)
- To Hannah Stewart and Tania Davis thank you for your contributions as seniors.
- Winning the Big 10 tournament and reaching the elite 8 is something to be proud of, thank you for some great basketball.
