197 will be hotly contested this year. I'm hoping (and remain optimistic) that Warner will rise to the occasion in March as he has proven to do in the past.
Beard wrestled great and has always been a tough kid. Max needs to pick up his game since many of his matches last year seemed to be in doubt but he usually finds a way to win. It's a shame Michael isn't still at Penn State, but he will do well wherever he is. I'm very confident that PSU will win the national title regardless of whether Max wins again, which in my opinion is going to be unlikely, or if he goes 2-2 at the national tournament.

I take 197 being a wide open shoot out this year. Beard is no slouch. There is no clear 1, 2, 3 at 197. 1-7 can be shaped up many ways.
Dean struggles with the big, long, strong guys. Beard and Laird are both those type of guys. A clash of styles.
I could see Dean's top game causing problems for Bautista. It causes problems for Warner.
197 could be the bracket buster come March. Tough to predict. I am going to sot back and enjoy the ride.

His point wasn't that #1 ranked Dean lost to a lower ranked opponent --- it's that he lost to the guy that Karl essentially pushed out of your program when he accepted Dean. Clearly a major insult to Beard, who was heavily recruited by Karl and was performing very well, but Karl apparently felt that Beard wouldn't ever be as good as Dean. So...Dean is trying to prove Karl wrong. Yes, Dean won a title last year, but Beard could very well end up placing higher than him this year.

You got it all wrong. Carl is perfect! He’s never made a mistake and this is all in the plan. Haha. Good for Beard. Hope he beats him when it counts too. Rather it be warner with his own bow and arrow (I’d give up a hand for that) but Beard deserves to more. Carl would go eat Beard’s salami and lather his bald head with the Mayo to have him back.

EXACTLY, and as I said. The great Kale really screwed himself. It did not make sense for him to make this move at all. BEARD has at least 3 maybe it is 4 years left. Fale will be his own worst enemy! He keeps burning his recruits and it will come back to burn him. So far it is three times, with Beard and Bubba wins, and the curse of 125!

I find it humorous how the F#N state guys take their stance on winning or losing...and their double standards... when Dean lost his 1st match it was the refs fault, the time keepers fault , the negative fans fault... everyone but Dean's fault. Then Dean gets beaten again by Beard and these early matches don't matter and Dean will be better for it... BUTTTTTTT when Kerk beat Tony C in the all star meet a week or so ago, it means that Tony C is done and should leave wrestling for good , they have already anointed Kerk the National championship. I guess the world spins differently in Happy Beaver Valley for some folks.

JWar has underperformed in quite a few duals over the years, but has been $$$$ in March. If he holds suite he’ll be a 4 AA ( 5 w/ the Covid AA). Not too shabby
Different wrestlers in different matches and different weights. you can't compare 197 and those guys to the heavies. Kerk had never beaten Cass until recently if I'm not mistake. I also saw Cass also was put on his back, of course he recovered and won big but the field there might be evening out.
As for Dean I* have no idea if he has any issues like sickness or whatever but we will see how he does throughout the year.
Dean got his butt kicked twice this weekend. Kerk kicked Cass' butt two weeks ago. Warner got handed two losses in the last 2 weeks. Spencer got tired yesterday.
