Bennett Stirtz & Isaia Howard will follow Ben McCollum to Iowa City. Who else will be?

So after he gets his staff and team together, what is the timeline for when practices start? So that a level of bonding and playing together can start to develop.

If McCollum has the same results as Ferentz, there will be a statue. I have wanted him since December. Dude is different. There are no guarantees, but I will be surprised if it doesn’t work out.

Kirk seems to still be trucking along, considering he finally was forced to hire someone competent on the offensive side of the ball. I’m pretty damn excited about the future of Iowa football too.

I have noticed you’re quite pessimistic in general, so I won’t bust your balls. It’s your nature.
I believe it will work out with McCollum as HC. The best part is he was born and raised a Hawkeye so he has a level of commitment to the program I don't think we have ever seen from a HC. This makes it very unlikely that if he's very successful he will ever leave for a 'better' job. One that could likely double his salary. Hopefully we are in for the golden age of MBB. Lute was the best coach we ever had,but he wasn't a midwesterner and hated winters(who doesn't) so he jumped for Arizona(which was a crap program when he took it)

The Iowa roster page is now down to 5 and Howard is not listed. And now only 1 coach on website.
Once it is posted on the transfer portal sites or the media then I'll believe it.

Bennett Stirtz is not listed on Hawkeyesports.com, either. So, I guess that means Bennett Stirtz and Isaia Howard are both NOT coming and Mike Mahon, the MEDIA guy who covers Drake and the Missouri Valley, is wrong. ;)

Doug, one thing you are correct on: HawkeyeSports.com right now has only 5 players listed: Trey Buchanan, Seydou Traore, Jacob Koch, Carter Kingsbury, Isaiah Johnson-Arigu.

Again, this was Mike's report from March 24; his reporting can be trusted.

Players, Coaching Staff, Support Staff:

Ben's won wherever he's been. He has a career 82% winning percentage. I only expect that 82% number to rise. ;)

This is as hot 🔥 as Stirtz will ever be. This will not be a good year for him as a Hawkeye in the upcoming season.

Mike's report!!! So it is written so it shall be done.

Usually summer practice starts around the 1st or 2nd week of June. Iowa should have a full roster by then.

I am updating the roster at the top based on my metrics, not yours Fran. FWIW, On3, Rivals and 247 plus the media shows Stirtz to Iowa, so he's on the roster. None show Howard yet, when they do, he'll go on the roster.

You clearly wrote that once "Isaia Howard to Iowa" is posted by the media, you'll believe it. Well, Mike's clearly part of the media, but now you don't believe it. Weird.

And you clearly wrote that no one in the media has Isaiah Howard to Iowa. That is 100% wrong; again, Mike covers Drake and the Missouri Valley Conference; he's part of the media.

So much for your "metrics."

I thought Lute was from MN.

He is clearly coming to Iowa, but it’s technically not official.

You’re both correct. Now kiss and make up.

Exactly. You proved my point.

That anything can happen?

That was your point?

Hell even if someone is listed on the roster, sitting on the bench. Gets introduced as the starter moments before the game….doesn’t mean they are going to ever play.

The roof could fall in on them.

Enjoy living a life waiting for the negative to happen. Set your expectations low and you will never be disappointed.

Would absolutely love another Reggie Evans!!

I suspect that he's playing IL off of KS and will end up w/ KS at the end of the day. KS makes more sense - closer to home, more money, and doesn't have to compete against IA 1-3 times per year; a program and state that still means something to him. That's my gut anyway.

I’m flipping my % from 65/35 to 20/80 that Dix returns. It’s too much money to pass up. Honestly, and we all know Josh is a great player, Iowa may be well advised to allocate funds elsewhere instead of getting into a bidding war with Kansas.
Im just thinking. This new rev share won't go through for a month or 2 or am i wrong. Giving us 4-5mill a year total for mbb. That's coming from the head of the swarm

We were reported to spend about 1.5 mill in nil for mbb last year. I'm sure we've raised more since bens hiring. But I don't think were getting dix because it's not done yet. If it were we would definitely have the funds to sign him.

At this point I do not care where he goes as it appears Iowa is less and less an option. Goodbye.

I don't see Iowa getting into a bidding war with KS. BenM is smart and I'm sure he knows what he can offer and is willing to offer and won't go above that at the expense of the overall good of the team. He beat teams with far bigger budgets at Drake - KState and Mizzou to name a couple - and I'm sure he's aware of the budget disparity. And went toe-to-toe with Tech, coached by his buddy. I'm guessing he has a pretty good idea how much Tech spent as well. He's very confident in his ability to do more with less which bodes well for Iowa considering our NIL situation appears to have improved.
