Motley Crue
GNR
Aerosmith
KISS
Top 4. The key word is "ROCK" bands boys. Any body who mentions Night Ranger, Chicago, Journey or Boston, needs to listen to one week of HairNation on XM to see what "Rock Band" means.
But like You said about Santana, TP is the draw. He went away and so did they.
My point was that Santana had a revolving door of "band members".... The Heartbreakers weren't like that at all.
Skynyrd had a few personnel changes before the plane crash, too, but mostly the same band.
Santana is a band. Period.
Is Bon Jovi a band?Meh.
It's like saying Eric Clapton is a band.

Learn something every day. They're definitely the most American sounding English band then.English
No...it's not. Does some else sing for Clapton? Well...you know those songs like Black Magic Woman and Evil Ways? They were written and sung by people in the band because Santana doesn't speak English any better than Sammy Sosa. THE FACT THAT HE MJST HAVE A SINGER WITH HIM makes Santana a band.
If Santana was a solo act as you suggest, it would be all instrumental and no one would have bought one album.
Actually, Black Magic Woman was written by Peter Green when he was with Fleetwood Mac (and was originally performed by them). Santana simply did a great cover of it. That said, I agree with you that I would consider them a band.
Talking Heads
Ramones
The Minutemen

Nirvana
Guided By Voices
Weezer
Foo Fighters
Alice Cooper
The White Stripes
Yuuuge like for The Minutemen...Mike Watt is seriously under appreciated.
I saw Cheap Trick along with Foreigner two years ago at Starlite Theatre in KC. Great show.I saw Cheap Trick at Wacky Waters in Davenport in the late 80s.

Just so you are forewarned, I won't give you 3 steps...I'm going with Lynyrd Skynyrd here.
I'll be at the Fight Bar at 4 for anyone who disagrees.
