I have no words, sir. No words. You'll have to excuse me, I need some air.

Waaaaaay more guitarists in that band than the measly three put forth by your Skynyrd pick.Sorry, dude. Carlos is the draw. Everyone else was/is totally replaceable. From your link:

Let me put it this way...the best guitar player in Nirvana was the drummer.I... I don't... I just can't...

Nirvana was a generation defining influence. They defined the 90's.
The Foo Fighters write bubble gum pop and I don't think I could name one song if you put a gun to my head. My Hero? Is that a Foo Fighters song?
I actually view Nirvana similarly to how I view Skynyrd. Both are decent bands with some good songs but aren't even the best in their own genre. Nirvana is far from the best grunge band just like LS is far from the best in Southern Rock.I have other friends like you. Kurt disciples. Had Kurt been able to function differently and Nirv lasted more than 5 yrs than i would see them differently; probably more like you. I think a number of influences from the Seattle scene have had long lasting impact including Mudhoney, AiC, and Soundgarden. Grohl is an amazing talent. He had to carry Kurt thru a great many live performances.

Both have "cult" like fanbases that make it even more annoying.
Green River created the genre, in my opinion.A cult fanbase, that's cute. Who can you say is better in their genre than Nirvana? Hell, they practically created the genre.

Grohl is an amazing performer. I just think the Foo Fighters put out really vanilla, boring, cookie cutter music.

I like Nirvana but Kurt's special talent was his look and then death. Kinda like Jim Morrison.Nirvana as a band was OK,... Cobain was a special talent....
No it's because everyone is dead wrong and I'm correctThat's why opinion threads like this are always 18 pages. People just have different tastes and will defend them to the death. Or at least to the fight bar.
If their front man had charisma and or was attractive they would have been huge.Seeing them 2 weeks from today.

Finally, some punk rock influence in this thread. I'll addWhat a bunch of f*cking Hippies in this group....
Husker Du
Black Flag
Fear
Minor Threat
Bad Brains
Never underestimate sex appeal.Kind of agree, but I think their style was less mainstream.
Nirvana wasn't mainstream until it came in the proper package.Kind of agree, but I think their style was less mainstream.

True but if the LV had looked like Steve Buschemi doubt it would have been as popular.Putting out one of the greatest albums in the history of music with perhaps the greatest single of all time didn't hurt, either

You’re entitled to your stupid and moronic opinion.
Half of them are not American. Don't count.
Which song ?
Territorial Pissings.
Nah. Smells Like Teen Spirit, of course.
