In 2022, U.S. healthcare spending reached $4.5 trillion, which is about $13,400 per person.
I keep hearing that our numbers are double (or more) what other "civilized" nations pay.

I'm operating on the assumption that if we had medicare for all, our total outlay would shrink to be more in line with other top nations.

Just pay for it. The tax increase will be shocking to most idiots.
One main reason why we don't just pay for it is that the rich folks would be paying a large share of the increased taxes. So they tell the so-called elected representatives they own to vote against it.

Pharma and the Insurance sector do the same to protect their profits.

Why would they want the rest of us have what only they can afford? It’s incredible to me Republican Americans argue for something no other country wants. So idiotic.
