Disappointed for these guys, so many of them are great human beings off the mat so it sucks seeing them fall short on it. 14 years ago I was watching the 2011 WS in a well known drinking establishment in North liberty. With the Cardinals down to their last strike, down 2 runs i pulled my buddies together and said "we're gonna effing win this game", which was out of character for me as I am pretty pessimistic. So I once again turn optimistic and say LFG and win the whole damn thing in 2 weeks. Whole new tourney!

When MC stuffs his shots he needs to try to score off the front headlocks he gets in. Risky, but can get a big move off that and do it once and you slow Mess down a bit.
It's true though. How can you be the best ever if you are 0-2 against someone? Once is a fluke. Twice is a trend.
That’s like the worst possible approach to trying to beat MM. The more exchanges you get into with MM, the more he scores and the more fatigued you get.
Caliendo kept the wrestling exchanges to a minimum, and that gave him a chance to tie it late. Didn’t work out but that was the best approach I’ve seen from him yet.
I'd rather Drake and SB lose at B10s and then come back and shine at NCAAs. Learn now so you don't pay later. They're both
A-gamers and I think they will win it all.
I don’t agree that Gable is the best ever; nobody was agreeing that he was but for whatever reason two different PSU fans had to come point out one of their wrestlers beat him. I think they call this “small dick syndrome” or something along those lines.
You've seen that happen many times. The guy that loses the conference tournament comes back and beats the guy at nationals.
You're kidding yourself. They're not going to win it all at NCAAs. Our coaches have proven their inability to get our guys ready to shine at NCAAs.

Look at who they are wrestling. Put them in the Big Ten and see how they do.
No, but you have to admit, that's pretty tight competition at both weights. I think they will win it all. And I'm hoping moreso for SB just because of the way he wrestled this year and what he's brought to this program and meant to this program. I hope he sticks around and wrestles with the HWC!!
No, but the two stingers I recall quite clearly are Alex and Kem winning B10s and then losing at NCAAs, of course Alex winning 4 B10's, but losing to a myriad of wrestlers at NCAAs. Hopefully this time we will be on the other end. We've really got to work on our offense. Waiting for the 3rd period and beyond to score a TD has been one of our bigtime weaknesses. It's almost like someone is teaching that shit in the wresting room. You know the old "do what you need to do to have a chance to win it at the end" kind of mentality/teaching that very infrequently pans out for Hawks. We need a new plan!
