Just going to agree to disagree here - it makes zero sense to me that Hy-Vee or Casey’s would have $150k on standby for womens transfer play X, unless it was like a Proctor type situation or someone that was already well-known.
I find it really positive when people respond to their own posts as is displayed above. Thank you for bringing this positivity to my day CM!
I haven’t moved anything down. Someone said morrow got 100k to go to LSU. And I said that there is no way that we could not get 150k to get a player like that. Keep up.

The money was definitely there if Iowa:
1. Found someone they really wanted
AND
2. Reached out to the appropriate people/group/businesses.
My guess is 1 didn’t happen, so step 2 was never reached. But to say that the money wasn’t there, isn’t accurate. Maybe the Swarm didn’t have it.

Now this critic is reasonable…not a crime, but she could have slowed it down a bit. Let’s be honest, we haven’t played from behind much. A loss on the road to this team doesn’t hurt anything and could help 🤷♂️

Bluder can’t arrange them for potential prospects. there may have been people trying to do just that we don.’t really know but there was no significant money for the top centers available in the portal. I can’t guarantee anything but reliable sources have said “neither the money or the system was available to bring the top centers to Iowa”.

Well if she’s not great on defense how would she help us on defense? She was a scorer at Louisville. And she hasn’t fit in at all at LSU. And she can’t guard anyone. And I thought we needed a Center that Casey’s was going to pay for? I was going to ask the manager here in KC if she was willing to pay but just got a breakfast pizza instead.
As has been posted, in this thread…I guess (can’t verify) several of The black girls said they wouldn’t play for Iowa!
Jersey Mike’s is dropping multiple millions for a couple high school seniors to play at Rutgers for one year. Obviously we won’t really know how it’s being done. It’s the world we live in.
We needed any addition, after losing two key pieces. But center would have been top of the list. Van Lith has good size for a guard. It’s not like we are shutting people down on defense.
Why would you assume that? If for no other reason than it's an opportunity to bitch about something of which you are completely in the dark of the actual truth? Do you run and tell everyone about every aspect of your business? Probably not because those other people, like you here, just do not matter to the ones who actually have to make the decisions.
Our defense has improved significantly this year fyi.
Our scoring defense is currently 284 out of 343. Maybe that’s better than last year. I have no idea. Part of that is pushing the pace a lot, so they are going to give up points.
Other teams are going to score a lot of points because of the pace of play. I don't think the interior defense is very good, however. When Molly Davis appears to be the best at blocking out, you know you're going to have a problem with rebounding as well. Maybe too much of an emphasis on getting down the court fast? Which of course has its benefits too.
I really like Molly Davis. She’s a great player and maybe our second best consistent scorer. Iowa is just an extremely small team at times defensively.
She has had an excellent year and continually amazes me how many rebounds she gets and the ability to score against the bigger players. But she's learned how to play the game with what she has and is fun to watch.
She’s 5-7, we’ve played multiple teams that have gone almost 6 foot across the board. You should stop posting…5-7 is “ok” but not “good” sized in todays women’s basketball.
Honestly, I love Caitlyn but we have found out (at least is I have) Molly Davis is a player. And she had been overshadowed., the more she grows and shines, the better. Kate Martin and Stuelke can play on any team in America and Affolter is a fist fighter!!!This team is better than last years.
If you can’t see that, you should just quit watching and definitely posting.
Every metric they use to judge teams has improved year over year.
I like this team but in no way are they better than last year’s team. That’s pretty crazy. McKenna and Monika really helped out down low. Now we are asking Hannah to play out of position.

I’m may start a new thread on this, so people not mad as hell can see reality before getting jaded, but you, just you, need to explains a few things to me….
Are you not aware we have beaten 3 of the 5 best Centers in college Basketball?!? 3 of the very, very best @ 6-4 to 6-6, on 3 of the best teams?…please explain?
2nd we have the 4th/5th most quad 1 wins, the 2nd most quad 2 wins & the 6th or 7th best schedule in the country. We have so far played @ least 10 likely tournament teams…
Our schedule has far surpassed last years. And yet our scoring is similar, maybe a bit higher, we get down the court even faster and our defense is 5 points per game better. Again against a much tougher schedule and yet we aren’t as good ?
Explain that to me, please?
Aren’t we 3 and 2 against ranked teams? I’d take last years team. Maybe you are different.

The CEO of the Swarm that said that multiple large donors expressed interest in supporting WBB via the Swarm last year. He did two separate interviews discussing this, at least one was specifically about the portal / transfer season. There is/was clearly interest / discussion.
Morrow couldn't even take DePaul to the NCAAT. Plenty of DePaul fans were actually happy she left, because they felt she wasn't a team player / didn't buy into the program's culture/style of play.
I think when you assess a team, you look at it as everyone playing as well--or close to--as they are capable. We don't have a true post right now that's good enough to compete at a high enough level. Hannah is a 4, as many have pointed out. She's not "beefy" enough to play the 5--we've seen it a number of times.
Addy and Sharon aren't athletic enough to deal with the better 5's, let alone the elite ones.
Monika had her defensive issues, but her scoring abilities made up for it.
Every team has their issues; some just more glaring than others. I don't think the sky is falling, but I also don't think this team is as good as last years, and I readily acknowledge that last year's team lost 7 games, while this one has only lost 2.
Va Tech, K-st x 2, Iowa St, IU & Ohio St. Then Michigan st & Minne in top 32 of NET and then the Drakes and FG coasts of the world who are tourney teams..,
Again, that’s the 6th best schedule. Hell tOSU didn’t beat us because of a center…they outplayed us down the stretch. Helped by letting McMahon absolutely bowl us over in the lane, the blocking foul called on Stuelke, was much heavier than the charge they called on Martin later….
It was a horrifically called game, very inconsistent and then Caitlyn got a bit panicky hoisting 40 footers. I’m pissed but not at anyone in particular…
I’ve watched very closely. Early in the year they were worse, than last year, now they are legitimately one of the 5 best teams in the country and better than last year.
You are certainty entitled to that… there aren’t any metrics that would back you up, and our schedule this year is much tougher, and our defense is five points a game better against that tougher schedule, and we have played three of the best centers in college women’s basketball and beat them….
This team gets up and down the court, faster and more efficiently than even last year‘s team. IMO
I will agree that Caitlin has somehow taken her game to another level this year. But they lost a lot of her supporting cast.
