Bo Bassett COMMITS to IOWA. Who's next?

Come on jrod you know VHS just regurgitates whatever he reads on forums and gets in his messages. He cant verify one thing he says. He goes by hearsay yet acts like he's in the know. The guy said he wrestled for Iowa so people would believe the shit he spews
thats the first time a number has been said for Blaze or for any non-Iowa recruit/transfer

If Bo got anything close to the 5 number, it better be for all 3, and hope there is still a lot left for transfers and other top recruits. Bo is a great start but we need a lot more to get back on top. We need 2 to 3 years of recruits in a row. If we can add the Raneys and Mocco, and have Melvin Miller the following year that is a hell of a start. If it is just Bo and Miller then that leaves a lot of spots still.

no it's not. mineo definitely put out a blaze number. i forget what he claimed but it was 1) more than 600k and 2) disputed vigorously by tOSU staff.
there was just a number put out today for Jax. there were numbers for Bo to other schools.
there was a number for Jacob Cardenas, Lucas Davison, and Shane Griffith (which turned out to include tuition in final figure stated)
there were numbers for Wyatt Hendrickson. there was even a supposed number from OKST for Drake.
Can you breakdown who put those numbers out? All Mineo? All you? A mix? Random posters? Which forums predominately?
Would like to know where/who to look for when other schools get commits.
Are they stand alone numbers? Or are they the ‘signed for $250k which is much less than the $7 million a month Iowa offered’

Heavy dose of sarcasm to point out the different approaches to revealing nil numbers.
I expect no serious answer to the questions. We all have biases and they manifest in many different ways.
If there were a serious, detailed response on how/when numbers are revealed and used it would further highlight how some approach the process. You’re a smart poster(not always 100% honest) and you know the difference between the following approaches
A. While in the portal a number is thrown out ‘I heard Jackwagon State is at the $2 million number for Tommy Takedown’
Is different than
B. After there is a commitment and the work is done ‘I heard Paulie Pinner got $200K to sign with Good Guy University’

Is the effect the same? Nope, does the perception generated match? Nope. The disingenuous approach is entertaining. The Eddie Haskell ‘gee, I wouldn’t do that Mrs. Cleaver’ approach makes me chuckle. When it’s all said and done it’s about generating income by leveraging the information you acquire. I tip my cap because they are very good at it and I assume live a pretty good lifestyle with it. Just don’t pretend it is something it’s not.
You're right I did see the Blaze number, but I wrote it off b/c of exactly what you said. it seemed to be another BS mineo report.
To clarify the point I was trying to make is that we are to believe the numbers posted about Iowa (Which are always HIGH). But the high number for tOSU is/was supposedly fake. While never seeing 'reliable' posters like you, or @vhsalum post numbers about other schools.
Maybe there were numbers for the other guys out there. But I didn't see them on this board and certainly didn't see them from the same people that were adamant about how much Iowa shells out in NIL.
When someone comes on here with an account that never posts and says OKST offered Drake $500k or Griffth got $500k for Michigcan it doesn't carry the same weight (or draw as much replies) as @vhs saying the $5 mil for Bassett is true - which he said first on 34 and counting and didn't say it here until called out about it
That is the stuff that feel disingenuous and gets Iowa fans riled up and not wanting to believe the numbers

Kid is so well spoken. He absolutely gives me Spencer Lee vibes all over again for Iowa wrestling. I think he has the same effect as Spencer with the program. As good as PSU is right now, I think Iowa gets back on top in another 3 years or so when this recruiting class joins Deluca, Gabe, Angelo, Ludington, and BK. It is going to be a 3 team race for the foreseeable future with Iowa, PSU, and OSU leaving everyone else in the dust.
And the best recruit in OH just snubbed tOSU and committed to Penn State. And the best recruit in Iowa just snubbed all of the IA schools and committed to Ok St. So, no, it's not odd at all. Recruiting is not local. These guys went to the place they thought best for them and their needs. That's not always Penn St just because they're at the top of the mountain right now. This argument is completely stupid.
Some guys like to start a trend vs. just being part of the trend. Bassett is the exact type of recruit I have been screaming for. Someone actually interested in upsetting the apple cart. Instead of fighting for guys that obviously fit right into the PSU system, annd inevitably trying to aim upstream, identify those that have been open about their above mentioned interests and then go full bore after them.

it's frustrating for everyone. the coaches, the wrestlers, the fans and me as a journalist who just wants to report the truth (as i'm sure flo / intermat / win / etc would like to do).
but this stuff is in its infancy and not officially 'on the books'. while there are contracts getting your hands on them is a rarity and even then there is sure to be some behind-the-scenes/off-the-book stuff that goes on.
i actually have an article all ready to go on 'purported' figures for top transfers and prospects but i'm reluctant to publish. it's there if i ever get to feeling frisky and am prepared to get scolded from every corner of wrestling.

If you watched Flo when Jax committed they also talked about Bo’s commitment a lot. At the end JD wanted to read off some messages from Penn state fans about how much they don’t need him and making excuses for why they didn’t get him and Pyles wouldn’t let it happen. I was really looking forward to it. Some are unhinged but even the most respectful and mature posters couldn’t help but mentioning “the bag” over and over again lol.
Back to original subject of who’s next. I was right with Bo so I am probably going to be wrong on this one but after seeing Mocco and his family on Sunday I think it’s safe to say he will be the next one to jump on board with the Hawks. No inside info just another gut instinct.
I was hoping Pyles would ask Bo if he’s being recruiting other guys. Probably a rhetorical question, but his answer would have been interesting.
I’m digging Bo’s desire/effort to promote Iowa wrestling at this point in his hs career.
If Iowa can get Mocco and then hopefully the Raney’s I believe that’ll put them in position along with some continued fill in the missing pieces success to win it all
