Bret Bielema

I think he would do very well at Iowa. He has done a fantastic job at Illinois. Let’s not forget how terrible Lovie did at Illinois and he is a damn fine coach. LETS GET BIG BOI BACK HOME!
Not a Bielema fan, although I love his fake punts.

Indiana seems to have a pretty good football coach. I imagine there is another one out there working in anonymity who might work out at Iowa.

Illinois is a better situation for Bret, overall. Here's why:

-He's basically been the savior of that program from a decade plus of mediocrity, so he has more leeway/standing with the athletic department than he would have at Iowa.

-He doesn’t have to deal with the predecessor comparisons at his current job.

-He's already in year four of re-building the culture there at Illinois, and he'd have to start that over at Iowa.

-Illinois has access to "Chicago Money" for their NIL program, and Bret ain't shy about using NIL to recruit.

-He's an Illinois native who was an Illini fan growing up, so it might actually be his dream job.

lol, ok dude. It’s hilarious to me that you would share you had an intimate conversation with a former Hawkeye, claim there was information of consequence exchanged on an anonymous message board, but it’s a bridge too far to share the specifics. Clown.
His antics off the field weren’t acceptable in Madison and I don’t think they’d be tolerated in Iowa City either.

All Kirk’s Fluffers around here—well, the ones that didn’t crawl up Kakert’s ass to his new site—will tell you that Bielema isn’t classy enough to replace the king of class and bad game management.
56-7…jackass 😂

I don't think he's the same guy at this point in life. He's married with young kids now and we'll into his 50s. People mature.
Maybe. Some times those people get married, have kids and are still the same person doing the same thing.

It’s cute you think I’m a Nebraska fan. I’ve been following Iowa for over thirty years and I’ve been to like 10 bowls and countless games, even though I live > thousand miles from Iowa City. My favorite part of the Ferentz dynasty is how all the Iowa bumpkins rush to his defense and gas light anyone who is critical or honest about the man.

Still a jackass

The off the field issues are a very real thing. Perhaps he has cleaned things up. But at the draft he had mafia like crew around him.

And why exactly would Klienman want what at this point would be a lateral move? I doubt he's starving at KSU, and frankly he has a MUCH better chance at reaching the CFP every few years there then he EVER would at Iowa....
Big Ten > Big Twelve

There is a lot more money to be had and the prestige of coaching in a premier conference will be appealing to many good coaches out there.

He's making $5M/year in an easier conference

Cmon. Most of "the money" isn't going to the head coach. He still makes 5 million with a much better shot of being in the playoff. So your saying actually having a shot at the title holds NO prestige? How many B1G teams actually have a shot? In the next five years (by which this whole mess will probably change again) who has a better shot Campbell and Kleinman or whoever is coaching at Iowa?

I know the $ is not going to the coach. My point was that the Big Ten is more prestigious than B12. That’s important to some but not all.

I've never said that the B1G is not the more prestigious conference. Just that I can see reasons why guys, (especially almost 60 year old coaches) would stay in the little 12 with a MUCH better shot at the brass ring when they're already making 5 or 6 million $ a year.

Anyone remember the Iowa over ISU win where he--as a player-went up to the losing coach and dissed him? Of course; we'd like to do that but it did cause a stir.
