Brian Kelly is matching $1 million in NIL donations at LSU. Kirk.....your turn!!!

Is that consider legal under NCAA rules? I was under the impression it was not.

NCAA rules??

I think that the University of Iowa needs to give Elon Musk an honorary Doctorate. This could lead to an insane NIL setup!
"Insane" being the operative term.

Hell yes, KF should be dumping money back into the program for players. Who could afford it more, and who would benefit most? The guy has made an ungawdly amount of money from Iowa football. I think he could afford to funnel some back into it. And if he won't, why should anyone else?

From the article:

Coaches cannot give to NIL collectives under NCAA rules, but they can send money to a school’s athletics foundation. Kelly’s donation will be made to the Tiger Athletic Foundation, a private fundraising arm for LSU sports. The school did not specify how Kelly’s money will be used.

I could be wrong, but even without Kirk donating money, I believe there would be more funding available outside of drunk Iowans purchasing Swarm beer if there was any sort of confidence in some type of return on the investment. Why should someone donate a bunch of money to Swarm when Captain Fossil is going to punt in plus territory or shut the offense down in the 3rd or 4th quarter with any sort of lead?

Of all the players Iowa has gotten via the portal, only Nick Jackson has panned out. One player in two years, meaning not a single impact player on offense—the one side of ball where help was desperately needed. Absolutely pathetic.

Why would anyone donate serious coin for that shit?

Elon cant be bothered with NIL as he is planning to build that under the Atlantic Ocean hyperloop super fast train and also to trim the us govt by 80%

I’ve wondered about the ex Hawkeye players that are multimillionaires and if they donate in some way to Swarm. I bet not or very minimally since they didn’t have that and got theirs through hard work then drafted into the league.
I thought the same. I would argue almost all former players do not. Most probably say, why should I give them my earned money.

A tunnel under the atlantic ocean. Well Elon thinks ocean floors are smooth and level and what is that deepest dept?
Yeah, I'm sure he's clueless about all of these things you talk about. Have you voiced your concerns to him?

so just to get this whole thing straight. We have a top 25 NIL fund correct?
If that’s really true than it is most definitely the current state of the program that’s preventing us from getting players…. And if that’s the case then we will be mediocre under captain fossil until he heads to pasture. Let’s hope he gets the record next year and hangs it up .

If everyone on this board joined SWARM even at the entry level we would move up in that alleged top 25 NIL fund, correct?
