Buc-ee’s getting closer to Iowa!

I hear about the greatness of Bucee's. Does it really compare to the main I-80 truck stop. You can get everything at that place.
I have seen some youtube about this Bucee's joint. It really is massive and cool. And the food choices seem endless and awesomely fattening. Have I mentioned stuffed animals? Now if they sell some version of "trucker caffeine" what's not to love? The I-80 thing is huge but at least the last time I went there the food choices sucked and if you're there oh say like at 2am, it doesn't scream safe location to me.

I think you would have your Sox blown off at Buc-ees! I have been to the one near Tyler, TX (twice) and can honestly say, I have seen nothing close to it any where! (Including “the World’s Largest” on I-80 near the Quad Cities.)
It’s just a “truck stop”, but damn.....

Stopped at a Bucee's in Northern Colorado that had been open a month or so. It was 10pm on a Saturday night and there were 700-800 people there. I'm normally not a picture taker, but had to take some pictures. I've never seen anything like it.

Folks that have never seen or been to a Buc-ees have no idea what you are talking about.
When at a Buc-ees, you will understand you are not at a Casey's or Kum n’ Go any more!

Once get over the spectacle of Buc-ee's, it's kind of a hassle. It doesn't lend itself well to quick in and out stops. Unless we need to get food, we usually skip Buc-ee's on road trips.

Buc-ees is kind of dumb to me. The whole point of a gas station to me is to get in and out quickly. I’ve been once and will never go again.

For some folks, it isn’t. Sometimes folks need to use the bathroom, grab a sandwich and stretch their legs and fuel up in a well lit and clean atmosphere. Buc-ees does this on steroids! A huge variety of interesting food is available, too. Not necessarily 5 star quality…but interesting.

Yup this, makes for a good rest stop on a road trip. Now if I lived near one, it's not something I'd visit frequently.

Been to one in Texas.

It’s the Costco of gas stations. Got to see it to believe it.

In terms of gas stations there is no comparison. Imagine a very nice Kwik Star the size of a Target store.

Go once and say you’ve been there.
We went twice to the one on I-95 in St. Augustine for the brisket Sammies and a kolache.
Last week we stopped at the one at I-10 near the Gulf Shores exit in Alabama. They had to hire traffic cops for the crowds trying to find parking.
Too big and too busy. I’d say there were probably over 2,000 people there.
I prefer the Busy Bee off I-10 at Live Oak here in FL.

Much better food than any "convenience store" I have ever been to. Gas is generally the cheapest you can find anywhere around also.
