Call Me 'Ze,' not 'He': Please Use 'Gender Inclusive' Pronouns

The rules don't allow someone like The Rock from using the women's restroom because by society's standards he looks like a man and I assume most would ask him to leave..

Why do you burden someone with societal standards?

You need to have an open mind.

I can look like a man, have a penis and still self-identify as a women.

As such, I should be able to use a women's restroom and not feel the need to bow down to your oppressive "Societal Standards" and dress/act like a women because you tell me to.

Biggot.

But that gym's policies actually say that if the Rock personally identifies as a woman then he can head on into the women's locker room. It gives no qualifiers.

I think that's a problem.

Unfortunately it wasn't a problem for anyone but this woman it sounds like. Nobody stood by her side why she gossiped about it to everyone within earshot in the dressing room. So I think she needs to find a new gym if she doesn't feel comfortable there. It's that simple really. Now if enough people saw it as a problem, Planet Fitness would need to make a decision about how they handle it moving forward but it sounds like one loudmouth decided to be the vocal minority and then ran to the media when others didn't follow her suit.

When Libs run wild...

Educators in the Volunteer State are very concerned that students might be offended by the usage of traditional pronouns like she, he, him and hers, according to a document from the University of Tennessee – Knoxville’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion.

“With the new semester beginning and an influx of new students on campus, it is important to participate in making our campus welcoming and inclusive for all,” wrote Donna Braquet in a posting on the university’s website. “One way to do that is to use a student’s chosen name and their correct pronouns.”

Braquet, who is director of the university’s Pride Center, suggested using a variety of gender neutral pronouns instead of traditional pronouns.

“There are dozens of gender-neutral pronouns,” she declared.

For all you folks who went to school back when there were only him and her – here’s a primer: some of the new gender neutral pronouns are ze, hir, zir, xe, xem and xyr.

“These may sound a little funny at first, but only because they are new,” Braquet explained. “The ‘she’ and ‘he’ pronouns would sound strange too if we had been taught ‘ze’ when growing up.”

The sheer stupidity of liberals on display.

Agree totally. I was just bringing it down to Hoosier's level. If The Rock wants to take a dump in the middle of the handicap stall of the .women's restroom I'm not going to stop him nor would I care that he did so. Most people (transgender included) aren't there to prey on the weak as Hoosier would have you believe. Most just want to get through the day so they can go home and drink until bed like the rest of us

It's a comfort thing, not a fear of them praying on the weak or attacking people. A public restroom as I posted before would generally not a be a good place to commit a violent crime because you would likely have several people witness it or interrupt it.

But I'm pretty sure a lot of women would take an issue to a guy looking like the Rock walking in.

Right, but we're not really talking about The Rock. Everyone who saw him would know he is male and should be using the men's restroom. What we're talking about his you playing bathroom police for people who don't meet your "guidelines" when it comes to how women and men should look or sound. I'd give you the same advice as the woman in the article, if you don't like something about where you are change it. Use the restroom at home before you leave, find a different bathroom to use, gas stations usually have a lock on the door for privacy, etc, etc, etc. Just because a handful of people feel "uncomfortable" about someone they THINK may be of the opposite sex using their bathroom doesn't mean they get to set the rules for the rest of us.

I have one boy and two girls. 3 year old twins and a 9 month old. Yes on occasion they will see myself or my wife naked. I'm curious, because in my household my kids are old enough to get undressed for the bath themselves. So normally why my wife and I are finishing up supper/dishes we'll have a naked 3 year old running around the house getting ready for a bath. Do you restrict your children from getting undressed anywhere but the bathroom in your house? What if your two year old needs a diaper change? Can it only be done behind close doors so your daughter doesn't see his penis and start asking you tough questions?

I remember that conversation with my boys when we explained why their sister has a front butt.

When my kids were 2 or so, without fail they'd be in a middle of a conversation and (more so my daughter than son) would just say "Benny (my son) is a boy because he has a penis, and I'm a girl because I have a bagina (couldn't pronounce vagina and still can't very well). We'd agree with them and tell them that was correct. They also did for handsome (boy) and beautiful (girl). We let them know early and often the difference between boys and girls and felt like it was the correct decision for our situation.

Yeah presuming it's a man, he went in the women's locker room.

Now if that doesn't concern you then we might as well just make everything 1 big restroom for both men and women and 1 big locker room too. Might as well just be like Starship Troopers movie in that regard. Guess they could shower together too.

Did he assault anyone? Did he ogle anyone? Did he flash his junk at anyone? WAS IT EVEN A HE?

Don't know, do you? I suppose you would have gone in there, approached a member of the club, and said, "Could I inspect your genitalia?"

Good luck with that.

Maybe we just need to get rid of the two bathroom paradigm.

Going forward there needs to be three.

One with the male silhouette. One with a female silhouette.

...and one with a likeness of The Riddler, or some ish.

M think that ze who is the director of Office of Diversity and Inclusion is going to confuse xem. I do applaud the incoming students having zirs opportunity to refer to each other as ze or xe instead of he or she. This should cause little to no confusion among xem,

Progressive Parents Refuse To Tell Child Its Sex

NEWS IN BRIEFNovember 3, 2010
VOL 46 ISSUE 44 Local

BERKELEY, CA—Citing a refusal to impose limiting social constructs on their offspring, parents Lucas Cady and Kat Loesel reported Monday they will not tell their 4-year-old, Quynn, whether the child is biologically male or female. "Who are Kat and I to say what sexual organs our kid possesses?" asked Loesel, who has dressed Quynn in dull gray smocks since birth and only allows the child to play with toy figures that have been neutered of any conventionally feminine or masculine characteristics. "We think it's important our child's frequent questions about girls and boys go unanswered so that Quynn can discover its true sex for itself." The couple also said that parents should be supportive of children who decide they do not have human genitalia at all.
