I thought it would be appropriate to link this. I've seen a few on here and many in the stands wonder why Mathews was pulled. Most people at the game or that started following probably aren't aware of the injuries he has dealt with. It's a damn shame too because Mathews was hitting his spots and his off speed stuff was fantastic yesterday. He has battled for four years and gave it his all. If Mathews could have gone longer, he definitely would have. His contributions over the years have been amazing. He is a big part of Iowa's success the last few years.

Saw the article and agree. Took a lot of work for him just to get on field. Have to admire he stuck with it for 4 -5 years
