Can Kemerer start as a freshman?

It appears that sloe is making the case for doing a better job of recruiting studs who COULD AA as true freshmen. Like Hall.
At the end of the day that's a fair statement. That said, as previously stated, why does it have to be ONLY a scenario where the kid is supposed to be a sure-fire AA? We add recruits every single year. Put the best team out there every single year and let the chips fall where they may. Eventually you might even have a TEAM that contends for a National Title............................

might have kept Derek from being a 4 time aa, and I saw no backpeddle from sloe

Except where he started out being adamant it will never happen but is now saying the reason it hasn't happened is that recruiting hasn't been good enough. I assume you mean except for that.

Your reading comprehension isn't all its cracked up to be. It was way past good enough at VT and it's been good enough at Iowa on more than the purported "obvious" scenarios talked about, which apparently if it's not obvious it's not possible. Not like we're talking about burning redshirts to take Mark Ironside out of the lineup.

I'll believe it when I see it, only had to wait 10 years so far, so no problem. I'm sure you'll let us know when it happens, seeing how it's just around the corner and all.........................

We'll call it the Spooner Blind Sow Theory. The stars aligned and wouldn't ya know it, there's the acorn!

He's very capable of doing so, but I think it'd be best get him in the room for a year and prepare him to be a 4x All American.
Great topic, and hard decision. Interesting when Mcllravy became the starter and the sacrifices one of the Steiners brothers made to support Gables decision. There is an article some where on the whole scenario. And I doubt any of those wrestlers discussed in this thread could have come close to what Mcllravy accomplished in that true freshman season. No offense to them, just a rarity.
