Stop with the rebuilding excuse That story has past... Every team is going to get better and you better keep up..if your not competing now you will not be next year ... Or the year after that

Yes Purdue is a good team ... Yes they might win the Big Ten but there is no excuse for allowing wide open 3's, lay ups under the basket and getting outbeat to every loose ball

THERE WAS NO GAME PLAN AND NO EFFORT..

If you want to keep apologizing for being young, playing on the road or playing against a good team than you will get your a.... beat every time..

SOMEONE CALL THE BUS DRIVER AND TAKE THIS TEAM HOME. NOTHING LIKE A LONG BUS RIDE HOME TO GET YOUR HEAD RIGHT

I remember reading about something that Bob Knight did once after a lackluster performance/ effort .
He basically cancelled the plane ride home put his players on a bus and when they arrived some 5 hours later they practiced for an intense 3 hours .

Apparently after this they never had an effort problem again.

FRAN NEEDS TO DO THE SAME THING... THIS GROUP AND COACHING STAFF NEEDS TO KNOW THAT YOU CANNOT SIMPLY SHOW UP IN THE BIG TEN AND EXPECT TO BE COMPETITIVE.
I AM NOT ONLY BLAMING THE PLAYERS BUT THE COACHING STAFF AS WELL..

Let all of them enjoy the all night bus ride home and then get their asses of the bus and drill for hours.

1) This team was ill prepared tonight with no answers to anything they looked list and didn't have a clue how to defend or score and that lies directly with the coaching staff.

2) The effort was not anywhere near what it needs to be to compete in the Big Ten and that lies in the players.

Should of KF made the football team take a bus home from Happy Valley? Pretty much the same scenario this past fall. Iowa team with a little confidence goes on the road and gets BLASTED by a better team. Iowa football had an off night that and Iowa basketball had an off night last night. It happens and when your on the road it makes it even more difficult. When the team you are playing is equal or better than you it makes it more of a challenge. Iowa football cleaned some things up and ended winning the last 3. it can happen in basketball as well. Give these boys time, they will grow and get better.

I tried to Google this and didn't find any evidence of Knight ever sending his team on a bus for punishment. Did see an article about him grabbing his players testicles, and I think that is what Fran should have done. Have the team circle up and Fran goes around one by one squeezing each guys balls, getting a real solid grip and telling them how they aren't real men. That's how Knight would handle it.

I'm sure Purdue was amped up after losing both games last year to Iowa so the beat down was on their mind big time. They knew there would be blood in the water and they attacked. 10 three's in the first half? Are you kidding me?

Also, not blaming the refs but two different sets of calls on Iowa and Purdue. Swanigan could do whatever he wanted on both ends while Pemsyl was called for ticky tack fouls. The one ref - balding and heavy set was just turrible.

I have to agree with this statement. The officials let Swanigan kind of run wild.

No I am here... Good win today.., waiting to actually see it on TV but obviously my point was proved as Minnesota best Purdue today.. Yeah that's right Purdue is good but no way Iowa should of played so poorly without effort or heart the other night Apparently a turnaround game so hopefully they learned a lesson.

Maybe Minnesota is on fire like Iowa last year they won't be top 3 in the big ten unlike Purdue will be and every game in the big10 was an upset today that's crazy out of 5 games. Idk if the penn state at Rutgers game was but that was a toss up game imo.

It's gonna be a strange strange year. I hope we beat Minnesota with their high RPi around 8....that win will get us back in the picture.

Minnesota will play back to Minnesota ball soon.
