Best thread I've seen in months. Overall I gotta lean curds but at their best a 10/10 onion ring is the best in class.

You spelled seasoned tater rounds (aka Taco John's potato oles) wrong.

I'm not familiar - never seen Taco John's before. That said, I looked them up and these "Super Potato Oles" sound awesome! Like tater tot nachos!!

Dude they’ve got a seasoning that is just a potato phenomenon. I recommend finding the recipe.

Probably just need a place that knows what they’re doing. I build a tater tot casserole probably once a month and it’s damn delicious.
Tater tot casserole is heaven on a cold winter day in Iowa. Simplest is best: ground beef seasoned with Lawry's, can of cream of mushroom soup, can of cream of chicken soup, shredded cheddar, and tots seasoned with Lawry's.

My DIL has a Minnesota heritage and she made one of those casseroles for our Christmas brunch. Gooood.
I mean, I get that most people frown on calling other foods (like a can of soup) ingredients, and the soups on their own are not good to eat, but damn does it all work together.

Hot take living in Iowa but corn in anything is gross. The only corn worth eating is in fried tortilla chip format, on the cob, or popped.
Corn casserole is delicious. Muffin mix, can of cream and whole kernel, minced onion, sour cream and butter. Bake and melt cheese on top. Holiday staple.

From my initial internet research, they're either:
A. Lawry's Seasoning Salt
B. Celery Salt
C. Lawry's + Cayenne + Paprika + Cumin

Research continues...

Crispy fried mushrooms are surprisingly good with either blue cheese OR ranch dressing.

I’m guessing you would have a similar opinion of fried okra?

Honestly, not sure I have ever had okra. Mushrooms just aren't my jam though.

A&W > Culvers
It used to be awesome for sure, I have not been to one in a long time. Sounds good! Growing up, my dad would get paid once a month and that Tuesday they would load us four kids into the station wagon and we would head to A&W for 50 cent Coney dogs on Tuesday nights. Ice cold root beer in frosty mugs. That was a big night!

Yep they are slowly making a comeback. Their curds with the spicy papa sauce is so much better than Culver's. The made in house root beer just spectacular. Burgers and chicken strips are great and their fries are fantastic.

Onions destroy me inside, so Cheese balls it is. I do prefer the string onion ring's over the fat ones.

We occasionally make it with cream of tomato soup and it is really good as well. Not as good, but a nice change.

Because not only have you polluted pure and delicious tater tot casserole with corn, it is further desecrated with mixed vegetables. I love veggies properly prepared, but not a bag of mixed frozen veggies as filler for a tater tot casserole.
but you're using Lawry's, bagged shredded cheddar, and bagged tots.

Don't lecture me on mixed veggies.
