Christian Williams

The key for Williams is getting his back healthy. That can be easier said than done. Ever tried playing college basketball with a bad back????
If his back is that bad he shouldn't be playing. I hope that's his only excuse for not being able to hit a jump shot of any kind or a free throw, otherwise he's in deep doo-doo.

Guy makes freshman All Big Ten, as a starting point guard. Not one pundit questioning him at point. And we still have people so secure in their view that they want to move a sub-six foot guy to shooting guard in the Big Ten.

Dogs love making with cats. Rain falling up. And the asylum being operated by the patients!

Williams improves all season, we don't beat Indiana the first time without him. But we can't believe he's got another level in him if he gets well.

Conner McCaffery ranked top 150 by Rivals. Called a point guard by his Barnstormers coaches. They talk up his passing by comparing it to Jason Kidd. But we can't believe he could come in ready to help, despite kind of having some info as to Iowa's offensive system.

Eating chicken legs with a fork! Believing "R" on the stick shift means "Run". Mimes making speeches.

One can just feel the bravery that wasn't there until the season is almost over. Got over six months to spout nonsense until 2017/18 and anyone with a spark left in their cranium knows that will be the end of the bitching. I guess now is the time to complain..........

..........which only makes it seem so very intentional.

What we need, is not to replace Jordan at point, nor worry too much about his backup. We need concern ourselves with development of the other guard spot, if there is anything to really be concerned with at all, on the offensive end.

What we need, is to see the defense and rebounding take a major step forward, in case anyone hadn't noticed.

But point guard? That is a strength on offense and with better inside defense to help on penetration it is adequate with Bohannon, and dominant with Williams!

:D

You GO BOY!

Williams is just scratching the surface of his ability. The light bulb went off with his defense. I hope it goes off next year with his offense. He is going to be hard to keep off the court his last two years if he can get some offensive confidence.

Seeing is believing, but I hope your right. I really do.

I still feel good for him. I thought he would make a bigger step this year but he was very valuable on defense when healthy. He should have played more the first year. Especially during the 2nd half swoon when AC/MG weren't able to take care of business.

Keep feeling if things really went his way, and he got some confidence, he would just take off. Same thing for Moss. Hoping it happens next year.

1) JBo, Connor Mc, Williams
2) Moss, Ellingson, Dailey
3) Baer, Uhl, Dailey/Moss
4) Cook, Pemsl, Wagner, Nunge
5) Kriener, Garza, Nunge

I don't get all the Williams love. He should never play more than 5 minutes. Is he long? Yep. Can he play the top of the zone? Sure. But his offensive skills are so bad they can't make up for his decent defense. Every time he comes into the game the offense comes to a screeching halt. He's a point guard that just slows the offense down by dribbling back and forth at the top of the key. Anytime the ball comes to him he again just dribbles around. You can't run the offense through him, he can't shoot a lick, he is a below average ball handler, he doesn't see the court at all and by the way he can't shoot a lick.
