He's started all 3 games Kentucky has played...I missed the beginning. Did CJ start?
I don't know how any player can play 32 minutes and not get a rebound5 pts. 2-7 shooting (1-6 from 3), no boards, no assists, 4 fouls.
Yeah - I'm not sure how you can play 32 minutes with a bunch of McDonald's All-Americans and not get an assist.I don't know how any player can play 32 minutes and not get a rebound
Kentucky still finding itself as a team. To be fair, Frederick's job with Kentucky is to space the floor and wait for the ball to be thrown to him, and if he's open to shoot it. But yes, odd to play that many minutes and not have a rebound or assist.Yeah - I'm not sure how you can play 32 minutes with a bunch of McDonald's All-Americans and not get an assist.

Why? From what I remember he was pretty stationary at Iowa as well.Yes...he literally stood on the side holding his hands out waiting at times. I found it odd.
He was actually decent at getting into the lane and shooting his little mid-range or working off screens and cutting to the basket when at Iowa, at least when he was healthy. Kentucky's offense, with their on-ball talent, is far different. They basically space the floor and let the ball-handler work off ball screens and make something happen. Since Frederick isn't option 1, 2 or 3 with the ball in his hands, his job at Kentucky appears to be to stand in the corner and wait for the ball to be kicked to him off dribble penetration. Why? He'll have some games where he makes 4-5 3's when teams collapse, and other games where he doesn't do much.
This was CJ's game at Iowa. He was a very high percentage 3 point shooter but did nothing else on the court. He averaged 1 rebound and 2 assists in his final year.I don't know how any player can play 32 minutes and not get a rebound
He may have had instances where he moved into the lane for some bunnies but what I remember he would plant himself free throw line extended and wait for someone to get him the ball.He was actually decent at getting into the lane and shooting his little mid-range or working off screens and cutting to the basket when at Iowa, at least when he was healthy. Why the hate? He is just a kid playing b ball . You guys have no clue what went down and why he left. He is a great kid from a great family. He is playing d 1 basketball unless you have played your self you have no idea what those kids go through.

Ohhh idk, could have something to do with telling Fran he was excited to get back to work and assured him he wasn’t going anywhere. Then a day later he enters the portal. That may have something to do with the hate. Oh and to top it off, he was supposedly a “family friend” which is what brought him to IA.Why the hate? He is just a kid playing b ball . It sure there was much hype around him honestly. Wasn’t some big 4 star recruit. He may have had instances where he moved into the lane for some bunnies but what I remember he would plant himself free throw line extended and wait for someone to get him the ball.
I wasn’t as impressed as others with what he brought to the floor. Maybe all the time nursing one injury after another soured my opinion but his game never equaled the hype he showed up with to Iowa City.

Pat should rebound more consistently, but he's grabbed 6 and 5 boards this season.
We should all have that sense of humor when shots are being taken at usCJ has a sense of humor!![]()
Lets see if he shows up or disappears when the competition improves.Pat should rebound more consistently, but he's grabbed 6 and 5 boards this season.
Kentucky high school basketball must not have been much to watch his senior year then.It sure there was much hype around him honestly. Wasn’t some big 4 star recruit.
Their top guard is withdrawing from NBA draft. I wonder how many minutes he will get or if he will even start.
Yes. I’m still bitter about sneaky CJ and his shady ass uncle situation. Karma would be CJ coming off the bench and getting way less minutes.
There will be lots of competition at the guard position for KY, while CJ would have been the go-to player here. SMH

C.J. looks like a fish out of water, not a good look. I don't think coach Cal is going to continue to start him or play him extended minutes if Kentucky is going to fall behind in games against premiere teams.Kentucky at Gonzaga on ESPN right now.
