CJB is not a running QB

He runs because he's got cojones and he wants to win, and when he's 100% he's got decent speed, but at the end of the day he's not a guy that should be running the ball. He's not built like Tim Tebow or Lamar Jackson where they can absorb hits from linebackers and safeties or be agile/elusive enough to avoid taking hits.

He started the season dinged up, and the first time he decided to run in the NDSU game he took a hit to his shoulder which took him out of the game. It's nice to have the running threat from the QB in your offense but unfortunately CJB isn't the guy to provide that, and personally I'd like to see his running activity stick to scrambling behind the line of scrimmage, bc if we're going to do anything this season we need that guy healthy and slinging TDs.

We run out of shotgun a lot, Why not run some zone read w/him? I mean he is a runner and even if he runs 3yds and slides, its better than what we showed on Saturday. I mean overtime we are in shotgun the entire defense knows its a pass.

No, he's not a running QB but he's got to be able to run and scramble to make plays and be effective.
The o-line pass protection, such as it is, has already been shown to have difficulty giving him enough time to throw. Throw in there ineffective RB help on blitzes and it's a recipe for him not to last the season. He needs to be able to get out of the pocket. Roll out several times a game. And, yes, be effective enough to run that it freezes the backers and safeties for those split seconds on critical occasions.
He's not Ben Rothlisberger, a relatively immobile but massive QB that seemingly can take punishment over and over and still make throws.
Effective scrambling and rolling out are important to him being effective.

Go rewatch all the games from last year. Him being able to create time and make plays with his feet let us go 12 and 0
