Will his size hurt him much? Idk enough about what scouts want in QB's, but most of the elite guys are 6'4+, with the exception of Brees.
CJB will be a first rounder next year. He has "it" IMO
-He has as strong of an arm as anyone at any level.
-He can make all the throws but admittedly needs a bit of work on long ball touch. I think he has the ability, just hasn't found it yet.
-When it comes to making certain throws, he is a lot like Favre in that he can throw at weird angles and off balance and get rid of it quick. that is hard to teach and is a huge asset at the next level.
-He is very mobile and athletic and has good pocket awareness.
-He comes from the Iowa system as a FB player. That carries a lot of weight these days even at the QB position despite Iowa not churning out that many NFL QB's. Yet if he sticks in the NFL, 2 of the last 3 will have.
That willingness to work and put in the time and not be a character risk is huge. Add in that he is pretty unflappable and I like his chances.
Watching all these games the past 4 or 5 weeks, I've yet to see a QB with more tools. Even Cook doesn't look as good IMO
There's the NegaHawk.1st Rounder after this year? Comes from the Iowa system as a FB player? Better than Cook? OMG......
CJB looks great but he has started 5 games in his career and hasn't faced anyone. Let's see how he does this weekend before we start calling for an early draft entry, let alone a 1st round pick.
No kidding, I never saw what the appeal of that guy was.If Jake Locker can be a first round pick I see no reason that CJ can't after next year. Just sayin'.
I think his deep throws are just as good as Stanzis, if not a bit better because of his superior arm strength. He of course though doesn't have DJK, McNutt, or Moeaki to throw to though. CJ is a complete package that will only get better with experience.I assume most people here do not have professional scouting experience. I know I don't. However, with that said, if you were a professional scout, what would be your "knock" on CJ? He has tremendous arm-strength - the strongest I've seen at Iowa (I am not old enough to have watched Iowa during the 80's and most of the 90's, so I'm only talking about Ferentz-led teams). His arm is accurate and he throws a nice deep ball (maybe not as good as Stanzi's, but CJ still has nice touch). He is mobile and can create time in the pocket. He never looks flustered. He makes good decisions with the ball. His size isn't "great" but I don't think being 6' 2" will be a hindrance either.
I really can't think of any serious knock on CJ that would downgrade his draft stock. Every other QB under Ferentz has had some obvious flaws: Banks lacked size and arm strength; Chandler lacked an accurate arm and quick decision-making (his completion percentage was not good); Tate lacked size, didn't have great arm strength, and at times made questionable decisions; Christensen, no explanation needed; Stanzi was light on arm strength, and also made questionable decisions; Vandenberg actually had nice arm strength, but he had a terrible senior season and fell off the map; Rudock obviously lacked arm strength.
CJB and chicken hawks will be exposed this Saturday.
We heard you last time stupidCJB and chicken hawks will be exposed this Saturday.
He's the same size as Aaron Rodgers. Taller than Drew Brees and Russell Wilson (among others). He's not slow, I enjoy chicken. You lose, good day sir.Too short
too slow
will be exposed when chicken hawks finally play a game against a decent team.
