Clark's Draw

The way Gilman handled (not handled as in beat up on but handled as in controlled the matches and ties) Garrett last year I would have to think Cory could do the same. And Cory is a hammer on top. Don't think Garrett will have seen anybody as good as Clark on top all season.

Hopefully Brewer, Garrett and Richards get knocked off early and reach havoc on Conaway in the consi bracket and Clark has a game Earl Hall in the finals.

I was thinking about that. Hall is nothing if not dangerous but somehow, I don't think that's going to happen.

Garrett did absolutely destroy Brewer earlier this year and looks like a beast up a weight class. He had to have been pulling a ton of weight last year at 125.

I wouldn't put anything past Clark but beating Garrett or Brewer is going to be a tough task.

Earl Hall is one of the most dynamic neutral wrestlers in the weight class. He is pretty garbage on bottom though. It's pretty sad he hasn't gotten any better on bottom throughout his career. He could've been pretty good.

Hall's issue, after the departure of Nickerson, was a good coach and workout partners. No one in the program to help him improve after his electric sophomore season. He's always been smallish and appeared weak on bottom. If you are a senior and don't trust yourself to be on bottom in a tight match, you can't have a lot of confidence in yourself. His greatest success normally has come the first time he wrestled someone.

I wouldn't reference Garrett's wrestling last season as a big indicator for how to wrestle him this season. He was obviously struggling with weight. Look at his wrestling the prior 2 seasons and than this season. I am not saying Clark can't hang with Garrett. But, using how Gilman controlled Garrett last season as a measuring stick is not something I would recommend.

That's fair. I was just offering up an opinion. I know the cut hurt Garrett last year, but he still looked explosive throughout the season except with Gilman.

I don't see anyone beating the top 4 seeds at either '25 or '33 before the semis. And I like seeing Clark facing Richards first.

A healthy Taylor is the wild card at the weight. He is as good as ANYONE on his feet. The issue is whether he can get enough takedowns to offset the riding beatdown that both Richards and Clark would put on him.

Rauser will not fare well against any of the higher seeds. I would like to see him AA this year, but he will not get a good start at that journey facing Clark.

It's funny we all want the easiest or safest way to the title for Clark and our guys. My guess is that Clark and Gilman both want the best and to be the best. Gilman to avenge some loses and Clark to stamp the truth home. I am sure that it is the same in the other weights as well. Looking forward to all of it and want to be cheering our guys on in the finals!!

I want the path of most bonus

I agree, I just think we as fans have a different take. I want our wrestlers to want the hardest path and believe they can score all the bonus points we need via the hardest path. As a fan and looking at it honestly, we need all the bonus points we can get this year and a few other things to go our way.
