Clemson Fan Visiting

I have found single tickets between the 40s for under face value every time I’ve tried (at least a dozen). The trick is to wait. The closer to kickoff, the cheaper the ticket.
I would recommend you wear your Clemson gear and walk around. Someone will engage you in conversation and invite you over to their tailgate. I can almost guarantee it.

First question is, where are you staying? That's going to determine how you get to the stadium. Second is, if you're driving hit me up on a private message and I'll get you a primo parking spot and tell you how to do it. Other than that, be aware that tailgating is EVERYWHERE, not just the parking lot, but EVERYWHERE. If you're not familiar with the town, it's going to be a bit confusing because Kinnick is not a hulking structure like a lot of other stadiums, however, it does seat almost 70K and is really f'ing loud. Fans sit right on the field and the opposing teams hate it with a passion. It's awesome. Like everyone else said, have fun and let us know what you think. If you need a parking spot, let me know.

What if somebody like me needs a parking spot? :)

Hello Hawkeye Fans,

I will be in town by myself for work this weekend and would like to see what the Iowa gameday experience is all about. Where should I go before the game to eat/see? Is the free shuttle worth it? Am I better off taking my chances and waiting until gameday to buy a ticket vs spending $150 minimum online?

I'll bring beer for your help...and for beating South Carolina in the 2008 Outback Bowl.

Thank you!

Have fun. PM me if you want to hang out at our tailgate for beers, burgers & brats. Night games at Kinnick are a blast. The party will be intense and the stadium will be rockin'.

Clemson- Grab this offer!! Get in the stadium 30 min before kick to soak up the pregame let us know what you think. IA fans are super friendly. Other good call is Breakfast downtown at Hamburg and check out downtown scene then bus over

It’s going to be electric over by Kinnick and inside weather looks perfect enjoy
Bluebird is better than Hamburg.

He loved Iowa City and the atmosphere but was underwhelmed by the crowd noise in Kinnick.
I sat near the top of the South Endzone. I don’t know where he sat, but it isn’t very loud up there. Had never sat there before. Those are the worst seats in Kinnick Stadium.

To be fair, he said it was hyped up too much by the fans. I thought it was loud as ever.

FWIW... I have been to all the B1G stadiums except Happy Valley, Nebraska, Maryland and Rutgers. Most only once but I would put Kinnick at #2 behind Ohio Stadium in terms of crowd noise.

On Television, it seemed like the crowd didn't maintain intensity toward the end of the game. I wondered if it might have something to do with how late the game went. Thought the long day of partying might have taken it's toll on some of the fans.

I think the wave has made kinnick somewhat of a destination to see a game in once in your life. I've heard several people comment that they'd like to see a game at Iowa here in VA in the past year. That NEVER happened before. They aren't even really very intoicollege football around here.

I sat next to a guy who was a Clemson fan. He was there with his gf (from iowa) and her family. He was a super nice guy and was getting annoyed at the Wisconsin fans by us as much as I was. Said he loved the tailgating that it was amazing and really enjoyed the game. Not sure if he was the one in this post (he was probably 24-25).

There is a ton of truth to that. Notice how they never cut a way to commercials while this is going on. Yeah one day they might but right now they're not. I don't think that's going to stop over the next three games either.

I think for the most part when people do go they will see that Iowa Hawkeye fans are into their football, it's not just the wave at kinnick.

I was surprised it wasn’t louder, and I was there. Just wasn’t a loud crowd relative to historical comparisons.

For some reason it was loud the entire game but not deafening at any point as it has been in the past.
