Coach of the season. Who should it be?

Dresser better send Jackson a thank you card for setting the bar so low at ISU. Can anyone remember a HC tanking a program so badly?
To the OP... Brad Smith.
VT underperformed as well in Dresser's absence. Tough to excel when losing your coach right before the biggest event of the season.

Bono, Brad Smith or Eggum.

But Cael definitely in Top 5.

Lots of talent, sure .... but cliched Team Title w/ 20% of starters injured.

And Joseph is a kid that went from giving up 18 points & losing to Subjeck in November to being a national finalist in March.

Giving exciting interviews is not the goal. Well, not Cael's goal, anyway.

Eggum should get the award.
Boring interviews are not what helps promote the sport. Brooks with his Mullet, Gilman with his war philosophies. The kid from Cornell on life and living it large. This is what the sport needs. Even The tOSU and the OSU coaches gave nice interviews. Cael is a dud when it comes to interviews (he's terrible). Needs to improve on that aspect of his coaching/wrestling, after all it is about wrestling in general, not just how good PSU is and how much fun they are having.

yeah big difference a week makes, psu faithful were near meltdown after bigs, cael did what he does don't see how anyone else is even in the conversation, but jody&john have definately had some influence on this tournament. on a sidenote i go to work then take a little nap after and it has taken me all morning just to get back on first page of threads, well done boys and it is still great to root for the hawkeyes.

I'd say either eggum or bono. I can see giving it to smith too.
Honorable mention or worth noting is what the Brands did with Clark. Clark was in a dark place with his injury and about to call it quits, the Brands mentored him through it and coached an injured Clark to a national title, going through the 2nd most brutal bracket of the tourney.
That takes guts from the athlete, but also good coaching.

Cael.

He was able to sign the best HS wrestlers in the USA to a single team, and kept their skills from deteriorating.

Haha...no shit.

I'd say Cael...Two season ending injuries for his starters and brought Hall out of shirt. Five champs and still beat the field by 20
Yea...Pretty good Coaching JOB TO HAVE so many mediocre wrestlers in the wrestling room and turn them into national champions. What a job. Him and Phil Jackson are real good about turning around mediocre players.
